I just heard it

“One Cure Fits All”, that is.

It is wonderful. Instantly. And perfectly.

I was listening to it on the bus ride to work this morning, another pissing-rain Vancouver BC day, and the combination of the factors involved (rain, going to work, amazing new Therapy? record playing fookin’ LOUD on the headphones) just all struck me at once and it turned into a very emotional experience. I have been a huge t? fan since ‘Nurse’ and while the band has never let me down, most of the records since ‘Infernal Love’ definitely took several listens before they imprinted themselves in my brain.

This one was instantaneous. Every facking song is a champion. If you’re somehow disappointed by this album, you really shouldn’t call yourself a fan.

All I can really say is, I hope for as long as I live that there will always be songs like “Dopamine Seratonin Adrenaline” and “Walk Through Darkness” around to mule-kick me in the heart.

To the Gentlemen in Therapy?, thank you! My hat is off to you on this one. This record is an absolute stunner, and I hope to God I finally get to see you on tour this time - are you going to come Stateside (how about Canadaside?) this time, or are you going to make me fly across the pond to see you?

Hands down, the best record I’ve heard in 2006.

A friend of mine works for CiTR college radio at UBC and handed me a spare promo copy of the disc.

Is that okay with you other message board members or do I have to apologize or something?

And please tell me, as fans, why is your first reaction

“Where did YOU get it?”

instead of

“What did you get out of it?”

Alright, understood, but it was given to me by a well-meaning friend who knows I’m a Therapy? junkie, and simply gave me a promo from the radio station. I’m not going to be one of those c**ts selling it on eBay.

I wasn’t trying to start anything.

Personally, I would prefer to buy it on vinyl. Are there plans to release it as such?

Bastards!

a) WHY does this band not get the recognition from recrd companies that it deserves? Therapy? was/is/will be so much better than most of the dreck out there it’s a crying shame they aren’t filthy-rich.

b) WHY no vinyl? This band was MEANT to be heard on record.

I support BANDS.

This means I buy ALBUMS.

I guess that makes me old-fashioned.

Yep, even if it’s a shite album by a band I love (obviously that’s not the case here), even if it’s something I could download, even if I get a copy of the promo. When I love a band, I go to bat for them always.

Especially for a band like Therapy? who deserve SO MUCH MORE recognition than they’ve ever gotten in North America.

I will most definitely be BUYING “One Cure Fits All” on April 24th.

I’ve long since stopped holding my breath for a North-American tour; guess I’ll have to come over there if I ever want to see them.

Nice one - sorry if we seemed a bit stroppy - we all had a vbig row on here because someone got hold of an illegal download version then panned the album which we all found a bit shitty - so sorry for the hostility and glad you’re enjoying it.

me I prefer to wait.

honest

ach, you know what?

I feel like a wee bit of a douche for having said anything.

I was just so excited, not only to GET a copy of the new record, but then to hear HOW AMAZING it was, I guess I just got carried away.

Don’t worry, the band said themselves that they only got annoyed by downloading the copy illegaly and then posting a BAD review.
It’s like a dictatorship round here sometimes, but if thats what keeps the band afloat!!
Your review helps the band, if anything!

If it’s all the people telling one person what to do then it’s nothing like a dictatorship ;) An inverse dictatorship, maybe :)

Yes, but what I was reffering to was my expression of opinion, and if my review was to say it was fantastic, then I might have got a different response from the band!

Or am I just repeating what I said, and misunderstandoing your post? :p

Don’t worry, being pedantic is a good thing! :p
It points out my mistakes for next time I get involved in a debate!

no problem wth downloading as long as you buy it on release date, its just you cant complain about something you got for free until the release date when you pay for it.

ps mp3 quality sucks

vinyl forever
