Sorry to jam the fence firmly between my rectum and my kidneys but I see both sides. Without wishing to drag my Wildheart promotion tendencies into the open too much, Ginger lives in Britain, was born in Britain and Britain has been responsible for a great deal of his success.
Despite this, his first solo album (Black Leather Mojo - available from all good online retailers) was a Japan-only release, which cost me about £40 to buy I seem to remember. I was a bit cheesed off, but because the rusty pubed tunesmith is such a godlike genius I bought it anyway.
2 years later it recieved a UK release, repackaged and with extra tracks, which pissed me off a bit more because I didn’t want to buy it again for the sake of a couple of live tracks.
So it totally bites when your favourite band/artist only releases their works abroad, but shit happens so work your way around it. Ultimately there are a very few decision points here. 1) Do I like Ginger/Therapy?/Ace of Base enough to spend a shitload on their new CD? and 2) where do I get it from if I do.
Record companies, just like everybody else exist to make money - that is why they are evil. If they do not view Therapy? as being a viable business investment then they simply will not invest in it. No different to opening a sausage roll shop next to a synagongue, it won’t make money.
The fact that they are stupid pointless dickheads -and they are wrong - has no bearing on it.
So Michael A - sorry you’ve had a bit of a pasting on these pages and I’m sorry you can’t get NANE in the states. IT’s a great album, if it was me, I’d bite the bullet and hit Amazon.
I do think it’s funny though that the problem is Therapy? not apologising nor explaning.
