Due to the 5 hour time difference I was able to download it early Sunday night for me (but midnight for those overseas).

Really digging it. Very melodic

I can hear that Andy’s learned a few new chords recently, some really good guitar stuff

Early faves

Sprung, Deluded Son, Our White Noise, Rain Hits Concrete, Walk Through Darkness

Even though I haven’t received it yet. If I had ordered it from play, I would be putting my thougths up like everyone else.
I really have sympathy for our colleagues in the US who can’t usually get the albums for ages, if this anticipation is what it is like, shit I hope it comes today.

I’ve got since friday. And I’m really cross with all you lot who’ve had it before: How come nobody has mentoned Hart Beat Hits and Private nobody as being the winners on OCFA, and if not the winners those are the two that I like most in this early stage. Together with Fear of God, Sprung, Rain Hits Concrete.
Overall I think it’s a booty shakin big riffs (stadium) rock ‘n roller of an album. Festivalcrowds will go kray.zee all over Europe this summer if the T? madness strikes their mellow emo-core asses.

Bit early to give my favo song , maybe after listening another couple of times. But overall a very good listening experience and some potential live favourites there.

Nice work HMV  Especially since there have been national adverts in music magazines BY HMV THEMSELVES which include OCFA!

“Hey, I know, why don’t we advertise albums so that people can buy them…?”
“Yeah and then…not stock them, so that people CAN’T buy them?!”

Genius

As I was not willing to cruise the city to find another store which might (not) have it, I had to buy two other records to give me some comfort till the end of the week.

Title: Still Good Stuff

Less urgency than NANE but far more craft I feel. Sprung, Dopamine would really easily fit onto Troublegum/Infernal Love for their mid-90’s heyday. The vocals are the best they have produced in years and the song structures of Dopamine and Unconsoled in particular remind me once again of Husker Du (Big shout to Bob Mould for the chords on Dopamine). Our White Noise I think could be a live legend too. There seems to be be more of a passion than a rage which is in effect more intense.
Really enjoyed it far more on the first listen than NANE and has made the best impact on me since Semi-Detached.

that’s why i said it was my current opinion as the album is a real grower (which i think i also said). current favourites are D.A.S and O.W.N (love the drums at the start)

Anyone know if it’s easy to find in Germany? I’m still getting used to the fact that actual MUSIC shops are pretty hard to come across, it’s mainly divisions of electrical stores/chemists. Odd.

Still, you’re all bastards and I hate you. I’m off to download it off Limewire. Ahem. ;)

I love the poses they have made in this sleeve, very moody - lyrics included - nice :)
Shame they didn’t thank the fans in the sleeve (feel so unwanted) lol
The artwork some how makes more sense now then on first appearence.

I’m constantly listening to this sucker back-to-back!

Oooo I’m at entry post of: 666! Number of the BREAST :)

I fucking love this record.

Andys vocals are great, big sing-along choruses, I love the guitar sound (sound pisses on NANEs guitars)…

I am surprised at some of the songs that people have put forward as being weak - some of them are growers for sure but not weak.

I hope the chaps get rich of the back of this album then they can have a week of luxury once the tour ends before they head off to record the follow up.

I FUCKING LOVE THIS RECORD!

I think this is their deepest album since Infernal Love…(deep as in fewest throwaway tracks). So far I haven’t found myself skipping any tracks. Every track has something cool going on. I think this may have some of Andy and Michael’s best work yet..some real diversity on the album.

I do have some quibbles about some of the production in bits. I can tell what the people complaining about the drums are on about. There’s a few bits (IMO) where the mix is holding the track back from being all it could. Like the begining of “Fear of God”, if the drums thumped a bit more, it could have blown your head off.

Minor gripes aside..excellent album! Let’s hope it sells well!

I’ve been listening to the album for some time now, and even now, I am amazingly underwhelmed by it. I am very happy that so many people are enjoying it so much, and hopefully that augurs well for the band. Maybe it will get some more radio play, and some more commerical success. But “underwhelmed” really is the word that continues to describe how I feel about the album.

As some others have said here, it’s not a bad album per se, but for a T? album, it’s hard not to mentally set the bar of expectation very high, and maybe that’s what I’ve done, and therefore it’s all my own fault. I love the way the album starts and Outro gives way to Sprung, and it continues well with Deluded Son — which I really do believe (with the zero knowledge I have of the record business!) should be a single.

But then I think it kinda loses it. To me the only good bit of Into The Light is that it reminds me of a few Love/Hate songs. But that’s about it. That said, I’ll listen to it. Dopamine…, and Unconsoled are the only tracks I actually skip over now. Fear of God and Our White Noise are growing on me, but I find Private Nobody quite irritating. And I’m certainly like others in thinking that the “?” in “Therapy?” is hanging squarely over Heartbreak Hits.
I also think that I don’t like Rain Hits Concrete. *shrug*

That said, I almost, very nearly almost, really really like Walk Through Darkness. But when I listen to it, it feels like it’s just about to get really big, heavy and anthemic, and then… just goes down a different path. In the literal sense of the word, an anti-climax, to me.

I don’t want to be negative, and maybe the songs will complete rock live, which I truly hope, but after HA and NANE, the album is a big disappointment for me. I am somewhat relieved that the vast majority of people don’t share my view.

I am not sold one way or the other on the discussions of the production, and the drums in the mix… not yet, anyway. I do think however (and forgive me if you feel this is too outspoken a view) that whilst the music is pretty good in places, the lyrics seem to me to be quite lazy, and at times (I’m specifically thinking about oft-repeated phrases constituting choruses here) downright annoying…

I am sure many will disagree with me, but I cannot be one of these people who blindly evangelises about a band, just to be seen as a “proper fan”. I’m still a fan of the band, of course I am. Just a little disappointed and… here we go again, … underwhelmed… by this album.

It goes without saying however, the best of luck to the boys.

Well I had it in my grubby little mitts at 9.10 this morning, after harrasing HMV staff because I couldn’t find it…it was in the pop section…they had plenty of copies though, they just needed to put them where they could be found…

Overall I like it, got to agree about the repeated lyrics, it was something I noticed browsing them on the site before the album was released. It definitly has a pop/easy listening feel to it, I think it will be interesting to see how this comes across in the gigs, Sprung is one of my favourites (but then I liked it from the first time I heard it on myspace). Need to listen to it more now, I’m only on my third go, and I just can’t get through it without interuptions! Not as ‘rocky’ as I expected, but enjoyable and worth the cash/hassle non the less :)

I’ve listened to it through once. Early favourites are Lose It All and Our White Noise (which is absolutely brilliant). It’s true what people have been saying about the production. But then again, I prefer grotty sounds in general anyway, like on Shameless and even more so on SPYF. But overall, I like it very much and will get back to listening to it. RIGHT NOW. And of course I hope the best of luck to the guys as always.
