I cant decide between pretty hate and downward spiral. I dont have broken but have listened to it many times and I find it just way too short. Dont get me started with With Teeth what was Trent thinking, he may just have imploded his fanbase with that dirge.
The Fragile is pretty amazing though if you sit on your own in a room and really focus and listen to the soundscapes that Trent creates.
Downward Spiral has helped me with depression and I’ve been drawn to tears many times from listening to it. I get some type of release in it. I picture myself on stage and I also make music videos in my mind with the music and it helps me a lot. Try it. It would be way cool to be a music director. I can definately identify with some of the confusion with the outside world and feelings inside that Trent is expressing.
How about you?

I haven’t actually listened to anything post-Downward Spiral, so I can’t compare but I love PHM, it’s right up there with Troublegum on the soundtrack of my youth.

I voted for The Downward Spiral, but I probably love The Fragile equally. It really is a great album that’s often dismissed because of the instrumentals and more experimental tracks. They’re often labelled fillers, but I think they just make the album flow better, so it’s more than just heavy crushing song after heavy crushing song.

I’m surprised at the lack of votes for With Teeth. Its a great album!

Fragile should have been half the length in my opinion.

Oh dear. with_teeth sucks. There is one good track and three decent ones. The others = shite. Even if someone is deluded enough to think it’s ok, it’s nowhere near as good as previous releases.

FACT!

I agree JSar666 with teeth is so bad. The last song could’ve been good but just listen to how poor his vocal performance is! Have you seen the latest pics of Trent, the guy has been lifting serious weights, going for a new look I guess. Hope he’s not mixing steroids with all the other shit he has taken in the past. Another person on ultimatemetal.com said he met him and he constantly offered acid!

with_teeth could be seen as good, I mean everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but if anyone thinks it’s as good as or better than PHM, DS or The Fragile, they must be on crack.

I thought Trent was clean now… oh well.

Ha, I know exactly what you mean. I get that with every album I’m REALLY into.

I also agree about With_Teeth being horrible. The albums before that are all good, though. I always choose “The Fragile” as my favorite, simply because there are more songs on it, even if Trent’s sound was already getting repetitive by then.

One thing that always put me off listening to NIN was Trent’s pretentious attitude or maybe just the pretentious attitude of a lot of fans. It’s good emotional rock music, that’s all it is. NOT some really important piece of art.

He increased in size drasticly at the mid/end of the 90´s.
I´d seriously beat him for doing with teeth if his size didn´t scare me now…Preferd him when he was a whining skinny guy you could bitchslap if he pissed you of. Now though it´s a different matter. Henry Rollins could still whip his ass in size though…

No votes for broken?!?!? Have to do something about that…

Damn right. NIN fanboys are on par with Tool fanboys.

I think Henry’s a bit smaller now than he used to be. I guess age does that to you. No matter, then man is right about everything.

Broken is just an EP, albeit a damned good one. It’s not better than a full album’s worth of material though, surely? :(

I would have said the same about Glenn Danzig, but then again:
