#

Started by Divers (Simon)

I just went onto itunes and there is a itunes only bonus track for OCFA called “Freeze the remains”, so just bought and downloaded it. It’s not too bad.

I still hate itunes though..

ooh i’m looking into this.

the only problem is that iTunes songs are typically 128kbps, which sucks.

Songs on iTunes are 128kbps AAC files, which are similar to 192kpbs MP3 files.

The song is indeed exclusive to iTunes, and since it’s only available on iTunes UK at the moment, you can sadly only buy it with a UK iTunes account.

Don’t want to get an iTunes account just for the one song :(

Don’t need it otherwise.

It does. My contact at the record company has confirmed to me that the company handling digital music distribution for Therapy? has been told, and are actively working on making it available world wide on iTunes. Fingers crossed it will be sorted soon.

Isn’t there a way to e.g. put in the online shop so
people have to buy it from the T? shop here on this website?

Or through Eagle Rock / Spitfire?

This is just speculation on my part, but the fact that it is exclusive to iTunes, and considering that iTunes is keen on getting exclusive releases to promote their brand, I’m sure it says somewhere in a contract that it can’t be sold anywhere else.

iTunes accounts are free, no monthly fees or anything, so setting up one is easy and you can listen to the new song in no time. now let’s hope it will be up with the RHC EP on other stores too, not just the UK one. :D

Don’t excatly have words for this kind of behaviour from the band/recordlabel/itunes but have to say that I’m EXTREMELY dissapointing for anyone whos responsible for making Therapy? track only downloadable itunes UK…

I took this personally and as I haven’t download the 2 latest “singles” and haven’t bought OCFA, now I think that I never will. If the band/recordlabel/whoever acts like this and makes all the fans to stand in the different positions by releasing “this and that-region only track”, then they don’t need my support as I sure hell don’t need band who does that kind of decisions.

I have bought all the stuff since 1993 immidiately after the release and now you tell me that I can’t… I tried to support my (former, obviously) favourite band in anyway I could but this is enough for me.

Thanks for all the great years Therapy?, now it is time for me to move on to other section in the recordstores. Therapy?’s has been seen…

Thanks for all of you bearing with me all these years. I have made many great friends because of the band, I love you all!

Yours, MarkoJii

Hm, grumpy old man indeed.

I am just as pissed off, but I couldn’t stop listening to Therapy?

What pisses me off the most is that it almost assumes that all have an iPod - I have a Creative Zen and therefore no need for iTunes.

Wouldn’t mind if you could just download the track, but no, you have to install bloody iTunes.

Oh well, the whole installation - download - deinstallation shall kick off at home later I guess.

Would have thought that it would be at least available on the Spitfire webshite.

Oh well…

You don’t need to have an iPod to use iTunes. I don’t have an iPod and have been using iTunes for months to manage my music collection, and seem to be one of the few who actually likes the application.

The fact that there’s an iTunes exclusive track makes sense to me. Apple has been making deals like this with artists/record companies - even releasing complete exclusive EP’s and the like - to promote their iTunes service, and who can blame them, really?

What’s shit is that it’s only available on iTunes UK at the moment, but that is not a conscious decision by the band or the record company, but a mistake made by the company that handles digital music distribution for Therapy?/Spitfire. They are working on making it available on iTunes world wide.

Marko, while I fully understand you are disappointed about the current situation, you should consider the fact that it will be made available world wide (disclaimer: so I’ve been told, I don’t work there myself), and you will be able to buy it when it does. Turning your back on the band for this reason seems a bit much to me.

You should also consider what digital music distribution might do for Therapy? in terms of increasing sales, which will enable them to stay around to make more albums and do more tours, which is something that, I feel, we should embrace.

Yeah,

But my Zen also came with a software too where I can arrange, store my music etc.

They are just as bad as Microsoft, doing anything to force people to use there software.

No worries, I will download the track, just the whole install - deinstall seems like an annoying means to an ends. That is my main point - I would be cool with it if it were simply a matter of downloading the song.

Oh yeah,

Marco Jii - chill out man, something that is beyond the bands control is no reason to dump them (let’s be honest, you will be listening to them :))

I guess we all have to move with the digital revolution, hope the band get something out of it all.

Maybe there will be another download single and it will appear on that? (go on release deluded son!)
