I’m sure someone already compared it to Babyteeth. Something about it sounding like Babyteeth eating SD? Something like that, anyway.

Ha ha… missed that one. Umm… I think it sounds like ‘So Much For The Ten Year Plan’… in a bath, with a walrus of suicide pact eating away at the door of troublegum in a glorious caucasian psychotic manor.

So there.

Just out of curiosity, but has there been a T? album that OCFA hasn’t yet been compared to? If so, then I bagsies it. :D

“It’s like Pleasure Deaths’ Maiden Aunt. On smack.”

:o I find it similar to Infernal Love in its terrible front cover yet really nice booklet…As for the music, well, its blatantly Hats off to the insane falling down a mine shaft whilst being shafted by Have a merry fucking Christmas.

On Helium.

Bah… you merely haven’t understood the complex metaphor that can only be achieved though marine life devouring a stately home.

Both my friend and I find the album boring as hell! Remember the time when a chorus was a paragraph of witty, well crafted lyrics to chant along with?. One sentence droned over and over AND over just doesnt do it somehow. On every track I said “yeah ok I get it, you walk through darkness/rain hits concrete/you are the one/you see the city below/you got the fear of../private nobody/it leaves me cold etc etc I GET IT” BORING! The production is total poo, trying to sound like something its not. (Far too clean) T? have always sounded real and raw whereas this smacks of digital.

On a positive note I know that each individual track will become loved and we cant wait to hear it live but as an album I really dont think Im going to be able to listen to it in one sitting.

Sorry but…

So here’s another opinion on OCFA.
Coming from a person who’s fav T? albums are Troublegum, Semi-Detached, SPYF and NANE.
First of all i really dislike the production, the exitement i ussualy get from the T? drums is nowhere to be found… Not that Neil does not kick ass on this album, HE DOES, it’s actualy the production that’s doing Neil short…
I’m always appreciating the fact that Therapy? is a band that does not make an album they have already made.
So after getting into the new sound, here’s my view on the tracks:
fav: Sprung, Into the light, Unconsoled, W Noise, Rain and HEART BEAT HITS. 4 some kind of reason people here don’t seem to like HBH, i think is’s one of the best tracks on this album. Songs i dislike: Fear of God, Walk Through Darkness.
Really looking 4ward to seeing T? live again.
Rock on!

After the disappointment of NANE, I’m so chuffed. A more detailed review will follow once I’ve become familiar with all of the songs, but this could easily be the best album since Suicide Pact. FACT!

Its interesting to see that because of Therapy? and their different musical sound/styles etc with each and every album, that you’re always gonna have people saying that they prefer this album to the other or last one etc.

That’s a fact right? :p

Musically NANE is great in parts, but the lyrics are just soooo cheesy. This new album has better lyrics and completely craps on NANE musically.

I’m honestly taken aback by this album. It sounds like T? yes, but this sounds more like it has its own sound whereas HA was kind of like Semi-Detached meets Troublegum and NANE was Babyteeth meets Suicide Pact.

That’s the special limited edition version for hayfever sufferers who forgot to take their medication, is it? :)

I’m really loving this album, and I’m glad to say it, because I was half expecting the follow up to NANE to seem like an anticlimax.
The two albums aren’t really comparable, though. Both very different creations.

And nobody nitices what a brilliant song “INTO THE LIGHT” is????!!! What a bass-line! What a riff! And the short notes and sloganesk singing (although screaming is here better in place) really doing it here.

other favorites are:

SPRUNG :techno meets hard rock! I think remixed bij f.e. de Dewaele brothers (2many DJ’s) it could work in discotheques

PRIVATE NOBODY
DELUDED SON
WALK TROUGH DARKNESS

…oh bollocks, every f*cking song on it!

The whole album sounds great after a couple of listenings.

hello all, my first post!

Anyway, I’m gonna analyse OCFA track by track, here goes!

Outro - not much you can say about this really, 20-something second that eases you into…

Sprung - starts the album with bang! classic T? anthem with a killer chorus, should be great live

Deluded Son - choon! love Andy’s soaring vocals on the chorus

Into The Light - nice swirling guitar leads into another sing-along chorus…this is a filler free zone so far!

Lose It All - one of the heavier songs on the album, reminds me a bit of Femtex on Troublegum. Trouble is that the production isn’t beefy enough to make it as heavy as it really needs to be, still a decent song.

Dopamine, Seratonin, Adrenaline - nice change in pace, love the hazy, soothing melody at the start, great catchy anthem, and the spoken sample thing in the middle works well, one of the best on the album

Unconsoled - sees T? getting in touch with their dark side again, similar to Unbeliver off Troublegum, nice tune.

Our White Noise - I LOVE this track! so addictive and cathy, brilliant chorus, and the bit at the end where it goes fast is great. Best song on the album for me.

Private Nobody - another dark track, cold icy riffs and Andy sounds pissed off. Similar to Turn and Black Eye Purple sky, very good track.

Rain Hits Concrete - starts quite unremarkable, then the chorus suddenly kicks in and saves the song.

Fear Of God - not too keen on this, again the production should allow this to be heavier, seems like a bit of a bland and filler track

Heart Bit Hits - love the riff at the start of this, and the “You see the city below” line…but then the song seems to run out of ideas. Read in the other thread that it could have been a B-side, and it seems more suited to a B-side - just a collection of ideas rather than an actual song. The album’s weakest point for me.

Walk Through Darkness - makes up for the previous 2 weak songs with a good rocking track to end with, like the feedback at the end!

So overall, not their best, but still a good album. I’d say it’s not as good as High Anxiety (which was their best since Troublegum for me), but about level with NANE. Also, I’m slightly dissappointed that nearly all the songs fall into the “mid-paced rock” catagory, it misses the speed of Troublegum, and the dark menace of Infernal Love. All in all though, pretty neat album.
