i find it hard to believe anyone would want to go to turkey unless they were bombing it

Well Elisa, I’m in Sydney, Australia at this moment, and all I can say is that I love it! I haven’t seen much besides Sydney (except for the Blue Mountains), but I will go to Melbourne and Canberra in a couple of weeks. Two friends of mine have been here for 6 weeks now, and they’ve seen a lot more than me (Perth, Alice Springs, Kings Canyon, etc.), and from the pictures, it seems beautiful to me. But Sydney at itself is great to visit, so much to see over here… But next summer (the Northern Hemisphere summer that is…) I’ll spend some weeks with my friends in Italy, just road trippin’. We’ll see where we stop in Italy!

violins playing. i find it amusing that i have to explain all my comments. turkey is a shithole. why anyone would want to go there instead of greece or ireland is beyond me. in conclusion, the only reason i’d have to go there is to bomb it.

I advised people to come to Turkey as it’s cheaper than any other European country. You can spend double the time you’re gonna spend in Greece or Italy with the same money. And also, I invited people to my house not to spend money for hotels. Is there anyone who can invite people whom he/she hasn’t met before to his house?

Yeah, Turkey has done nothing wrong, really. Except for 3 genocides in this century. Except for the fact that they occupy militarily half of Cyprus. And sure, Turkey is a really safe place to be for tourists. It is not if you disagree in public with the government or if you are a Kurd. It is funny that i have never even seen a reference in the european media (i ‘m not mentioning the american media cause i never expected them to) about how the human rights are violated in Turkey. Hundrends of political prisoners are on hunger strike and hundrends have already died because they are fighting for
better living conditions. And their only crime was to think differently from what is ‘politically correct’.

For the Cyprus problem, until 1974, that’s when the Turkish Military forces entered Cyprus, two nations (Turks and Greks) were living there. Because, in 1968, when Makarios became the President of Cyprus Greek Republic, Greeks started a genocide on Turks living in Cyprus. They were killing civil people, they weren’t fighting against the Turkish army. Then, Turkish Military Forces entered Cyprus to keep Turks safe and alive. No civil Greek was killed. Turkish army fought the Greek army.

People always say we killed Armenians in Turkey. That’s not false. But, it wasn’t a genocide as nations such as Turks, Kurds and Armenians in south-east of Turkey were in a war against each other. These three nations were killing each other in the beginning of 20th century.

After the World War I, Italy, England, France took over the land of Turkey. Turkish army fought against these nations for 4 years. During those for years more than a million Turks were killed by these nations’ armies. Isn’t it genocide? Yes, our grandfothers and grandmothers killed soldiers of these nations only to be free.

Please, accept my apologies for the people we killed. But, don’t deny your past. Everyone killed each other in the past. It’s not necessary to talk about it now. What we must talk is USA’s attempt to attack Iraq only for petrol.

By the way, I don’t deny my governments attitude for mindcrime. It’s the only point that you’re right. But, I can’t accept the other accusations.

In my opinion, every country has a ‘dead body in its cellar’. In Germany and perhaps some other countries it might be of course a bigger one. But nevertheless it depends on the individuals and not on
some weird politicians or on the ‘media war machine’…

Most of the things you mentioned are wrong, but you have been reading these lies in your schoolbooks and you have been hearing them since you were a kid, so i guess you ‘re excused.
About the genocide: more than 3 million armenians and greeks were forced to move out from their houses, they were transfered
in the inland and they were slaughtered there. Killing millions of innocent people who cannot defend themselves for the purpose of ethnic cleansing sounds like the definition of genocide to me.
And about Cyprus: during this ‘peaceful and bloodless’ invasion that you mentioned, 3000 civilians were killed, more than 200000 became refugees (and still are) and more than 1000 people are still missing. And there was no greek army in Cyprus for the very simple reason that Cyprus is a different country. What happened was that the brave turkish army attacked a tiny country of 700000 people with almost no army.
Don’t get the facts wrong and don’t believe anything your fascistic government tells you. Every time your economy collapses they will start this patriotic bullshit to distract you from your real problems. It’s up to you change it. If you keep believing everything they tell you and you don’t react, you will always stay like that, undeveloped and oppressed.
