Layne Staley dead

I guess we’ve all heard about the news. I have to say that if he really died of heroin abuse…well, sad for his family, but this was something that just had to happen. He was an addict for more than 10 years and he was lucky to survive it for such a long time. What do you think about it?

A great voice has died …

Would? is one of the best songs they made. I liked their acoustic songs as well some time ago.

AIC has always been my favorite grunge band.
When Cobain died, I didn’t give fuck. Layne & Jerry’s voices mathched perfect together. To bad they didn’t make any more records.

I’ve heard about Layne Staley’s death, because of drugs they said, even if he had been ill for a long time but I don’t know excatly what has happened.I only know nobody had seen him for a long time,he was dead for different days when they found him.I’m sorry about his death, Alice in Chains were a great band I like their music and he was a great singer. It’s always sad when I heard this kind of news…he was a great artist.

I don’t think that anyone who is a drug addict is lucky to live.
I think he was unlucky that his misery lasted so long.

Title: Grunge = R.I.P.?

Seems that all of my grunge heroes died, or the bands split up!
Smashing Pumpkins
Soundgarden
A.I.C.
Nirvana

There are just few bands of the glory 90ies, which are still existing… One of them is THERAPY?.

Well nevertheless it is tragic.

Title: Report

Alice in Chains’ Layne Staley died from a mixture of heroin and cocaine, an autopsy and toxicology report revealed Monday.

Laboratory results determined the singer died April 5, according to a spokesperson for the King County medical examiner’s office, the same day fellow grunge pioneer Kurt Cobain committed suicide in 1994. Staley was found dead two weeks later, surrounded by intravenous drug paraphernalia in his Seattle apartment.

The death certificate reads Staley’s death resulted from “an acute intoxication due to the combined effects of opiate (heroin) and cocaine.” The death was classified as “accidental.”

The lethal combination goes by the name “speedball” in drug circles. The same ingredients contributed to the deaths of comedian John Belushi in 1982 and actor River Phoenix in 1993.

This report is from MTV News
