I’ve saw them live. I was expecting so much more. I got bored. I went and smoked instead.

Yeah, I love Kyuss, QOTSA (first 3 and Burn The Witch) etc.

I geuss T? are kinda stoner at times- Nurse was like Stoner, but more manic.

hermano kicks ass and i don’t think no one mentioned yet the godfathers of stoner rock, MASTERS OF REALITY! i love qotsa and i think they are one of the best if not the best stoner band but masters deserves as many recognition if not more than qotsa, they rulle…great lyrics, AMAZING drumming (courtesy of ginger baker from cream on the album “sunrise on the sufferbus) and they’r amazing live

give us barabus was a collection of old stuff and chris’s solo stuff that hadn’t been released. Chris goss has had health issues so hasn’t done anything with MOR resecently. But he has been doing a new project with Josh Homme called the 5:15ers which isn’t too bad i have the only live concert somewhere.

I think it sounds like a weed/speed (or spweed) enduced album, so stoner elements.

Went to see FIREBIRD last night.
Bill Steer from CARCASS/NAPALM DEATH’s current band.

Pure stoner heaven! Excellent groovy stoner riffs and guitar solos that would melt any normal persons fingers off.

He didn’t even play guitar for the last 2 songs. Just him playing a harmonica and the drummer and bassist backing him up. Brilliant the way he mixed the vocals and the harmonica playing.

I’ve seen Firebird three years ago (or 4) they were supporting Fu Manchu then. I remember it was a good set. Steer played with a lot of joy. The Mighty Fuzzin’ Fu ripped anything to shreds. Predictable, yessir but oh my oh my so infectious…

I have it on good authority the Therapy? played a Kyuss riff last night (integrated into the Potato junkie/Femtex jam). I didn’t recognise it, but a friend of mine’s a huge Kyuss fan and he said it was off Wretch.

If any of the songs from Sabbaths sounds like doom then it must be the self-titled or maybe Hand of DOOM. Electric Funeral etc. yes, there are many doomish songs they’ve made but can someone really say that Sabbra Cadabra is doom or Paranoid as an example?

In my books Sabbath is still the mother of all these stoner/doom bands. Yes, the band is “doomed” but what I hear is 70’s unique heavy metal or should I simply say Black Sabbath.

Now I must listen to some Vol. 4..
