When you very first heard of Therapy?

I remember I was round a mate of mines house, he was fixing up his bike and he kept playing T? tapes on his gettoblaster :)

I often wonder if I would of been hooked on T? like I am now if I heard ‘Babyteeth’ from the first day of its release (*sings - LIMBO! j/k!)…???

I would of been 9 years old then :p

I was 17 when I had first heard of Therapy? It was through Kerrang!, and it must’ve been August of 1992. I didn’t hear them till Teethgrinder was on MTV’s 120 Minutes, then in early 1993 when Headbangers Ball played Nausea. When the ShortSharpShock EP came out with Screamager on it, it was a good time to get their stuff.

Now I’m 30 and still have my scracthed copy of Nurse in my collection.

i was 16, it was 1992, and it was abot half 1 in the morning. There was some programme on called “the chapel” or “the church” or something along those lines, it was hosted by Gary Crowley (under the guise of the reverend gary crowley)

anyhoo, as bad as it sounds it was actually a very good show. They played vids and had live bands. So anyway, this is where i saw T? They played Teethgrinder and i THINK, not sure, but i think they did Nausea too. Then on the following weeks show they did Disgracelands. I was gobsmacked. I went straight out and bough Nurse (on cassette which unfortunately got lost in the midsts of time) for the princely sum of £10. But my GOD was it worth it!!

Anybody else see this show?

I remember hearing Screamager when it came out and thinking it was just my brother’s kind of music, not really mine (at the time).
Wasn’t much fussed with it, but when Nowhere was played on the radio, before it came out, it hit the spot and I bought the single and then Troublegum on the day it came out.

Drifted away from them after Semi-detached, and got into them again after seeing them at the Bulldog Bash in 2000.

Love Shameless onwards much more than anything before it, these days.

I remember seeing the Teethgrinder video on MTV 120 Minutes (I think), but then I forgot about them (yeah, I know…) until I first heard Nowhere and I was like, hey, that is the same band! The next day I read an article about them in a music mag, which also reviewed the album and I went out to buy it as soon as possible.

I was 14, my brother asked if I wanted to go see them. It was my first gig and what a fucking gig! That was the Suicide Pact tour so it would have been 1999, possibly December I think.

In my sisters bedroom.

They were showing UK top 40 on MTV Europe and Screamager had entered as the highest new entry.

My sis then kind of goes “oh yeah, that is that cool new band from Northern Ireland”.

I was impressed, but even more impressed when I heard Troublegum for the first time while boozing at my then bass players house.

ah, memories…

Heard pleasure death in the garden of my house when i was playing football with my brothers friends, must have been about 13 years old.It sounded really different at the time cause all i had been listening to was iron maiden and whatnot. Went to see the band at ulster hall a few months after on the Nurse tour where i remember getting a cool t shirt with ‘have a nice day in hell’ on it.

I was walking with a friend around Potomac Mills mall and they actually played Screamager on the CCTV system. As soon as I heard that riff I stopped dead and was like “What the hell is that”.. So me and Jeff just stood in the middle of the mall watching the video. At the end was the ad for “Hats off to the Insane” and buy it at whatever the store was in whatever neighborhood.

We immediately ran to said store but I was short of cash. It wasn’t far off from my birthday so Jeff bought it for me (since it was an EP it was only $6). That CD (and God Fodder) were the just about my soundtrack based on how much I played them in my car.

The sad thing is, besides that time I saw Screamager in the mall, I only saw a T? video once after that, and it was only a day or so later it was on MTV. It might have been a buzz clip. But I never saw them play anything else..not even when Troublegum came out.

So it was just pure luck that I heard them and picked up the CD, otherwise I doubt I ever would have.

Around the same time a mate recorded the brixton academy show on mtv and i borrowed him that tape…

the rest its history.

You don’t care, do you? :(
