Apparently the G2 is ‘round the back of’ the Garage, to quote my friend who has been there before.

It is definitely at g2. You are right saying it is round the back of the garage - it is it has the same address as the garage. When bands get downgraded in venue they get put on there instead sometimes.

See here for the location

Back of the Garage but still on Sauchiehall Street?

Is there a side street or something to get into it?

I’ve only ever been to the ABC and The Garage in Glasgow, I’m not too familiar with anything else.

Is this venue change confirmed?

I’ve noticed that some websites which showed the change are now showing the Garage again!

Confused!

Any info from management?

Hmmm…I’ll be leaving for Glasgow at about 10 tomorrow so you probably won’t be able to get back to me in time.

I’m still confused however because some sites I went to, G2 had the same address as the Garage, but on Seetickets it says 474 Sauchiehall Street…

Title: G2 - location

If you’re facing the front door of The Garage, same side of the street, take a right for a minute, possibly less, you’ll get to a chippy (think it’s called Mr.Chips), take a right up to what looks like a car park.
There you go. It’s behind the chippy. Their curry sauce isn’t very nice.
G2’s a good wee venue.
Used to be known as…The Venue!
Silverfish used to play there all the time, and Mega City Four.

Hey dude, thanks very much.

That’s really helpful!

Just wanting to clarify though - Is there a side street next to The Garage? I can’t seem to see it on any maps on the net.

No, The Garage is in the middle of a block on Sauchiehall street and surrounded by shops either side but the alley next to the chippy on the far right of the block could be considered a side street.

If you’ve got time, across the road there’s Nice & Sleazy’s. Good pre-gig boozer.

What a cracker of a gig!

They took my T? gig virginity long and hard, and I’m so glad they did.

The venue was quite small so it was really intimate, and I was one of the lucky ones to be perched down the front, directly in front of Andy. It was just…amazing! Defintely the best gig I’ve been to.

Andy came out for a fag before the doors opened, and being first in the queue and pointed and just said “dude”. I felt kind of silly afterwards but I was just excited to finally see him in the flesh.

Oh and good luck to Mole.

Title: Fan Fuken Tastic (merged)

Therapy? Glasgow 30 May 2006. Fan feukken tastic.

God knows why this gig was moved from the main glasgow garage venue to a sweaty, overcrowded g2, but the intimate venue and band seemed to really gel and totally rocked. Was down 3 rows from the front and moshed/growled me ageing head off. In fact as a long term real-life tooth grinder; head banging to the eponymous track ironically loosened my spasmed neck muscles!

Even though he looked like he was suffering from accumulated tour blisters mr cooper was still a powerhouse on the kit. What a fekken drummer!!!! I was exhausted just watching the man!

All in all thank you once again mr therapys for a thundering good night out!

My first Therapy? gig, what an awesome set, I was kind of glad it was in G2, really made it more intimate.

I was the guy with the dark blue tshirt and grey top tied round my waist. Went piling down to the 3rd/fourth row when Teethgrinder came on!! :D

Superb, for £12 you can’t beat it, just shows you that the guys really enjoy doing it whcih is the important thing!

Cheers
Andy
