Average Crowd Now

#

Started by hrno28

More and more people I chat too these days have stupidly forgot about Therapy?

In Ireland and UK how many would they average at a headline gig?

Europe?

USA?

When they played the Astoria a couple of years ago, they didn’t sell it out and they had to close to the upstairs bit. The capacity of the Astoria is about 1700 I think, it wasn’t rammed, but their must have been about 1000 people there

On Thursday at Islington Academy it was pretty much full, and I’d say it’s got a capacity of about 800.

In London, I’d say just under 1000 is the biggest crowd they’ll get these days.

I think it might have been around 500 in the AB (BXL, Belgium that is for the uninitiated) but that was 500 noisy sweaty and loud fuckers so even if the place was hardly half full it was an awesome gig. But there might’ve been more or less, I was in front quasi all the time so didn’t really get an accurate impression

Leeds Cockpit has 500 capacity, they had 350 advance ticket sales and pretty much all the rest went on the door. Buy in advance, don’t be disappointed!

Most of the times I have seen them it’s been in Nottingham; Rock City has a capacity of 1900; for the really popular bands it’s usually overcrowded (about 2500), for T? it would have said it used to be about 1000 people.

But the last 3 gigs they’ve done have been all-nighters they’ve headlined (a fiver for a whole clubnight and about 5 bands), and the joint with the Wildhearts; and they’ve been packed.

Nice one for mentioning that, as I was wondering how many were there. I like it in there, nice and cosy, did you go down the stairs past Sam on the way out, as the Clone Roses were still playing in MDH2.
I know both gigs was pay on the door, but for Shameless they should have been in the hop and grape, but I’m sure someone told me advanced ticket sales had moved to the MDH2.

I think it is a bad sign when they get downgraded to g2 in glasgow with only 350 capacity and from what I hear there are still plenty of tickets remaining.

people are odd. We hardly ever get gigs in my home town of Llanelli but one of the clubs started putting band on a couple of years back. The Reef gig was packed, there was a few hundred for the Wildhearts, less than that for Shelter and most of them left after the support act, until finaly Roger Miret & the Disasters played and 12 people turned up. It did mean that everyone in the crowd got to join the band on stage for a photo but it also meant that the club went bust. Some of the blame can go to whoever printed their posters as they had the gig, the last one of the tour, advertised as Llanelli Sol Bar, Cardiff, England. We’re about 60 miles West of Cardiff.

800 for Islington Academy is right - I read that somewhere. What a FANTASTIC night, though. Got to be the best time I’ve seen T?

I was talkin to a barman in the Limelight, and he was saying that the Spring and Airbrake holds 600 legally (where the Belfast gig is happening this tour).

However, the Limelight and Katy Daly’s hold around 600 as well, and because they’re opening all the doors between the venues (there’s bands playing across the venues all day), there’ll probably be well more than 600 there. That’s if it sells out of course.
