Which Therapy? lyric best defines a period of your life?

#

Started by Rise Up!

Probably been done to death this one, but hell I’m new around here and have to make a name for myself somehow!

Ok, is there a T? lyric that is seared into your mind because of an event, experience or period in your life?

I’ll pick the following from Unbeliever:

‘Had enough of reinventing memories / living in the shadow of your charm’

This line lays claim to a period in my life when I got dumped big time and held on to the last, thinking about the past and this person. Unbeliever pulled me through it.

For what it is worth I think the greatest T? line is ‘With a face like this I won’t break any hearts / and thinking like that I won’t make any friends’. The greatest fuck you ever from those unlucky in love!!!!

(BTW I was on board from Babyteeth onwards not Troublegum)

no shocker there, it’s the best lyric in history because it’s so true to so many..including me.

“It’s a beautiful day, but I don’t see it that way, the sky’s too bright for my tired eyes to take” this is me every Saturday and Sunday before 1:00pm.

and I had an easy joke for “Can you feel it?!” but I’ll leave it alone.

“Dont wanna feel anymore…”

“I bruise to remember I drink to forget…”

…don’t these lyrics describe how we all felt before we got our first girlfriend?

Right now, it’s probably:

Don’t tell me everything’s alright
And don’t include me in your straight life

but there are so many more!

The first verse of “Stop It! You’re Killing Me” is good, too.

And this:

Oh shit, here comes morning
Another ugly bang that I dreaded coming
Go back to sleep, let the curtains protect me
Keep them closed so the light won’t get me

Stuck inside, afraid of big spaces
Too much noise and too many faces

OK, but I’m not ready
I’ll get up and go ‘cos I feel so guilty

Sums up just about each of my mornings.

Currently it’s the following:

“You always left me wanting, now I want you to leave” for a certain person and the lyrics of “Sprung” that literaly helped me getting throuh that shit. Screaming this live was indeed a form of therapy.

Basically:

Quote (author unknown):

My tongue is twisted from talking
My feet are blistered from walking alone
My head is bursting with thoughts
And every bruise feels so familiar
This city’s buzzing with bastards
Cancer tans and plastic disasters
Wannabees and users and makers
Impotents and shake city fakers

So don’t tell me everything’s alright
And don’t include me in your straight life

It is as I suspected, T? lyrics have “nursed” us through some tough times and also mark positive points in life.

Andy is a superb lyricist because he’s dealt with the same shit as the rest of us !

The lyrics themselves don’t relate to me, but I loved Infernal Love when it came out when I was 16 and it will always remind me of a great time in my life. Plus that line and they way Andy sings it really suits the tempo of ‘30 Seconds’.

Relating to T?, I think those lyrics sum up the rollercoaster that was Therapy’s life around that time.
