They played the Master of Puppets album in its entirety and the entire 2 and a half hour concert was shown live on line. :D

Metallica rule, just a pity about St. Anger. They are all better guitarists than the guys from therapy?. Yup, it’s true.

It’s interesting you say that Matthew, because you’re not entirely right.

Both of their sounds are very different, Therapy? don’t try and do heavy metal in the form that Metallica make it.

If Therapy? were playing heavy metal like Metallica then you could draw comparisons, but as it stands, you can’t.

Neil Cooper could kill lars. Lard is the sloppiest metal drummer working today. Apart from David Silveria from korn.

er…The Master of Puppets I heard on Scopophobia was laughably sloppy but i’ll let them off cos they probably only practiced it a couple of times. Even Andy himself admits he isn’t a great guitarist. There is no comparison - T? write better tunes but M are the boys when it comes to musicianship.

Couldn’t agree more - Lars is shite.

As is Kirk.

Trujillo and Hetfield are the talented ones in Metallica.

At Least james’ voice is improving. I’m looking forward to the new Rick Rubin - prouduced LP.

He is renowned for getting good drums down.

He might have his work cut out with Lars. :D

On youtube you can watch a video of James Hetfield joining Alice In Chains for “Would?”. Rather mediocre, I’d say.

LMAO!

Let’s face it, even the cut-and-paste computer jiggery-pokery on St Anger couldn’t make his drums sound in time!

EDIT: Just watched the AIC/Hetfield live clip of Would?

Hmmm, Jamez certainly struggles with those high notes Would? must surely rank as one of those Songs You Just Don’t Touch, no…?

behave yerself son!

You may not be a Slipknot fan, but I would hardly call Joey “sloppy” !!

he’s pretty tight, IMHO.

Let’s not get stuck into another drummer debate, anyway, this is a Metallica thread, and anyway Dave Lombardo of Slayer is the best metal drummer, with an honourable mention to Mikkey Dee of Motorhead too

Rarely. he can’t keep the speed up, loses stamina and goes out of time. A lot. Claude Coleman and Tim Alexander… there’s some drummers to be proud of.

I would say Charlie Benate of Anthrax is is one of the best drummers around, he gets over looked but he pisses over most drummers in metal. Dave is very good and Mikkey after seeing them live is very impressive.

The drumming with Therapy? has always been one of the reasons I kept playing the albums until worn out, I have bought Infernal Love at least three times to replace it. Neil does a great job on One Cure Fits All as well.

And on Metallica, I always felt that they sucked until St. Anger came along. That album might be nothing to do with what Metallica did in the past but exactly that is what makes it good. And Trujillo must be the collest Bassplayer ever!

Charlie Benante is just unstoppable in terms of double bass endurance! Just listen to the songs on Persistence of Time.
But I find him to be a very stiff drummer and even though he shows endurance with double bas he hardly has any uniquness in his double bass playing.
And yes Thomas Lang is the shit of all shit. He is the turd of all turds. The ass splatter of all ass splatters…
In other words he’s really good.

Too bad Trujillo isn’t on St. Anger.
