How come there’s no thread for this yet? Or have I missed it/!

Anyway, bands of the weekend were:

Metallica
Cathedral
Guns N Roses
Trivium (who i don’t even like!)

Anyone catch Wicked Wisdom - the band fronted by Jada Pinkett Smith? I’d like to hear opinions as me and my mates laughed at how poor they were! I feel sorry for all the rock stars who had to hang out with that tool Will smith backstage!

And a big Fuck Yeah! must go to Axl Rose who started off as a complete joke, we all thought G n’ R were falling apart in front of our eyes but they somehow turned it around and put on one of the best shows of the weekend!

So when you said that they let you in eventually, did you mean midday on the Monday? :p

Someone at work told me that Korn singer Jonathan Talentless (or is it Davies, I forget) was hospitalised and other singers had to deputise for him, including Corey Taylor of Slipknot fame.

Is this true?

It would be spooky if it is, as I went the year that Lars Ulrich was hospitalised and Joey from Slipknot deputised for him. As did Dave Lombardo of Slayer, for a couple of songs. (How the rest of Metallica let Ulrich back in the band after playing with those pair is quite beyond me…)

Cheers for the info

At least it meant Korn were better than usual. Now, if only they could replace all the other members too…

You’re obviously not talking about his ‘show’ in Dublin !

Yep, apparently he began getting brusises all over his body whenever he brushed off anything and was discovered to have a morbidly low platelet count (or something) in his blood. His doctor refused to let him leave the hospital for two weeks.

good to know you people have respect for others when they are ill!

G nR were great compared to the bands that preceded them - FFAF and Bullet… were a disgrace! The singer from Bullet was like a boyband guy, they suck beyond suckingness!

Seems that the ‘riots’ were downplayed by the media a fair bit. There’s obviously a lot of “well my great aunt’s sisters’ dogs’ wheelbarrow saw…” but a few scary first hand accounts:

And videos:

Exactly why I mainly stick to bollocking indie festivals, there’s a fair few wankers but less 15 year olds who’ve had one glass of cider and decide to act like twats and less chance for security fuck ups.

In fairness this is the first year that there has been any problems..metal/rock concerts and festivals that i have been to i can’t recall any fights or real twatish behavour. Reading and Leeds seem to have it as a yearly thing..and i see more violence in dance clubs. Also everyone i met at Download were very friendly and it was a surprise to hear about the trouble…but it does only take a few cocks to ruin it for others.:)

EDIT: but i’m not saying that what the security did was right…fuck i know what i want to say but can’t think of the words..:(

I know what you mean, as far as I can tell, there vast minority were twats, and those kind of twats go to these type of events just to act like complete cunts, and the security pissed it up the wall through either lack of training or just being wankers.

Somewhere it says a lot of them were chanting things like “if you’re not with us you’re against it”, and most of them were kids. I seriously wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of festivals started enforcing an age restriction in future years.

Speaking of dance clubs, apparently a lot of police are encouraging RnB clubs to change their music policies to dance music as there cause much less trouble (more likely for people to be on e than the champagne and coke a lot of rnb clubs seem to attract).
