Soundtrack To Your Funeral

#

Started by TotallyRandomNick

With http://www.thespark.com causing a lot of specultaion about when and how you are going to die, how abouts this one, if you had too choose right here and now what would be played at your funeral, who would it be? Doesnt have to be T?, just wondering what you thought would be a good song for people to reflect your untimely and very premature death when you have been grossly dismembered by a huge motherfuckin 18 wheeler Juggernaught?

I would have You Will Be Waiting by Barenaked Ladies and something by Therapy? but I can’t decide which track. Perhaps Bowels of Love, just so everyone at the funeral would be forced to listen to it. That would be my final joke upon the world, mwohahahahahaha…

Well:

“Gone” by T?
(to get the “audience” depressed)

“My Way” by Frank Sinatra
(to introduce a bit of pathos for this festive event ;-) )

“Keep on rocking in a free world” by Neil Young
(to get the aftershow-party started)

Yeah, my after some sad moments my funeral should be a big party…

I made a will some years ago when I started motorcycle racing, and I have specified the following, and in this order, and even when during the service.

At the beginning…Supertzar by Black Sabbath off Sabotage
Somewhere during the service…Megalomania also off Sabotage
At the end…Under the Sun by Sabbath off Volume 4

Did I ever mention that I’m a big Sabs fan?

I’d probably like to start my funeral with a song from a local band from my hometown, “Saattoväki” by Kotiteollisuus. (“Kotiteollisuus” means “home industry” and “saattoväki” means, well, the people that carry the coffin to the grave, if someone knows the English term then cheerio for him/her.) Actually, that band has other suitable songs since most of them are about death and other happy stuff.

On a lighter note, I’d want to priest to include in his/her speech the unforgettable Star Trek -line “he’s dead, Jim”.

Ha! I guess you haven’t heard Solitude by Candlemass. It is by far the most depressing song ever. So depressing it almost becomes ridiculous. But i’d have that played in my funeral. can’t think of a more suitable song.

Well i’m only joking.
Being serious, maybe Gone with a sin by HIM or a song called “Joutsenlaulu”, which is a kind of sad song with beautiful words and melody by a old finnish band..

Then at the party i hope people would hold for my memory, wouldn’t it be great to start it with Final Countdown by Europe? :) Nah, any good old rock ‘n’ roll would do..

I LOVE BOWELS OF LOVE!! Could I come along?? :(

I’d have to have start with Shiney Happy People by REM. Then play Weird Al - Another Rides The Bus, followed by No Rain by Blind Melon. Then if any body stayed until the end they could exit to the strains of Manfred Mann - Ha!Ha! Said that Clown!!

For something bizarre look no further than Mrs. Miller or Tiny Tim. That would kill at a funeral.

Personally, I’d like to imagine that Tom Waits’ “Time” will be played at my funeral. somehow I don’t think anyone of my family and friends will remember that last wish of mine. Tasteless bastards…

Oh sorry, I forgot between No Rain & Ha!Ha! Said the Clown - it would have to be the Robert Wyatt’s version of the Elvis Costello song - Shipbuilding.

Therapy? - Last One To Heaven’s a Loser
System of a Down - Violent Pornography
Johnny Cash - Hurt (I think it’s better than the NIN version)
Chili Peppers - Under the Bridge
And I’d play a song that my wife likes cause I’m cool like that.
