Reign In Blood 20 Years On

#

Started by Dennis (Dudley Less)

I keep reading articles in the metal press falling over themselves to say what a high-tide mark this was in metal and what a great record it is 20 years on…but…

Personally I prefer South of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss, so, come on Slayer fans out there, am I fulla shit or what?!

RIB is a great album… but i do feel Seasons In The abyss is a better all round album and i listen to it more. I guess at the time RIB was something a bit new and better than anything they had done up to that point. They went a bit down hill after seasons.

have you heard the new song, “Cult” yet?

go to

Good return to form, IMHO.

(Prob due to the return of prodigal son Lombardo…? :D)

ROFL

Funny as fuck!

I listened to the CD’s off Binge and Purge the other day, some of the drumming (esp the bass drums) was shockingly bad. So bad, in fact, that I could have done better myself. Yes, really that bad. And I struggle with the bass drum pedals at the best of times, what with these stilletos.

Do you like them, by the way? Are they my colour? I am not sure if the diamantes down the side are a bit too much, but Dave Lombardo bought me them, and I daren’t tell him I want to change them…

to be fair mate i think they’re pretty neat. :) Gee, dave must REALLY love you.

Ulrich only got me a pair of novelty slippers with “beer monster!” written across them. AND they’re the wrong size.

I certainly know how to pick my drummers…

but…

They aren’t a size 11 by any chance, are they…?

Oh WHY can’t i find a drummer who wants me for ME??!!

Very strange thread, this one.

Starts off talking about the mighty SLAYER.
Then just turns completely GAY.

SLAYER!

SATAN!

Obvious connection…

SLAYER!

GAY!

Don’t see the connection…
(unless you mean 4 guys wearing tight pants, who travel the world with a team of roadies, all men no doubt)

REIGIN IN BLOOD…even though he may deny it and would probably want to spit on me, Kerry King wouldn’t look out of place in a gay bar (notably full of bears…no, not the ones you find in the woods. Look, check out eurowoof.com for proof, okay?)

What was I on about now?

Oh yeah

ANGEL OF DEATH
MARCH TO THE KINGDOM OF THE DEAD
MERCYLESS BUCTHER
ANGEL OF DEATH

Sorry, I like Slayer, but I just can’t stand Angel of Death.

The lyric is far too ambiguous for such an important topic.

Dennis, think of the song this way. I think of the song as a bit of a history lesson, the part of WW2 that was never taught right in school. Could say the same for most real metal songs of the 80’s, coming to think about it.
