sepultura

This may not be most people’s cup of tea, but i went to see sepultura in TBMC in dublin last friday, and i thought they were absolutely brilliant..probably the best live drumming i’ve seen in a long time, well since seeing T? the night before…anyone else see sepultura?

yes indeedy, i was there on fri night. i did a triple gigathon this weekend consisting of t? on thurs, sepultura on fri and fu manchu on sat. no wonder it feels like i have whiplash!

sep were good but to be fair i thought the support band were even better, like they had something to proove. they even dedicated a song to me (i think it was me), probably because i was sitting next to their t shirt stall looking lost and very out of place!

good moshing during “roots bloody roots”, not surprisingly.

knowing nothing at all about fu manchu before i went, i thought the band before them (span?) were an even better live act, leaping into the audeince ect ect.

i didn’t see graham as i was propped up behind the sound board thing for most of the gig as i was really shagged from the 2 nights before.

also the guitar player in the first support band - amazing i thought!

Lucky bugger, I’d love to see them. I haven’t heard anything since Roots, is their new stuff any good?

yeah, their new album roorback is well worth checking out, perhaps not as good as roots or chaos AD but it is good, and their new(ish) singer derrick green is not half bad either, having seen them live now he is actually a pretty good front man, shame i never saw them with max cavelera though!

Sorry, but as good as they were, Sepultura were flat after Max left. The band should disband.

Title: Dante XXI

Im a big fan of Sepultura’s earlier stuff as most People are,

The Album “Against” had some heavy tunes and i liked alot of the drumming,

I am Seriously Dissapointed with the new album “Dantexxi” I think i can honestly say that it is shit…

No Igor , No Max, No Sepultura, They will finish their tour and then i think that this band will disband

Don’t think so, they have an excellent drummer… well, if Max doesn’t decide to kick them all out like he did with the first Soulfly line up

Doubtful that he would join soulfly, but would be interesting if he did.

Whats the point in Sepultura existing now that neither Cavalera is in the band (it was better when both brothers were in the band).

I thought it was a different line up every album anyway.

They did go down hill after max leaving, Against showed promise but they never followed it up. The stuff soulfly is doing now is just fantastic..it just took them time to find their feet.
