Started by Dennis

OK, so now I am reduced to begging you mofos, but…

My band is playing at LA Rock Cafe in Cannock, Staffs on Saturday (1st July) at 9:15pm(ish).

I realise for some of you this is a bit of a long way (whaddya mean there’s no late night bus back to Belgium?!)
but for CERTAIN local WoMbles…

:D

Come and hear all your (Dad’s) fave 70’s Classic Rock hits the way they were intended!*

(*i.e. played by fat old men in denim and leather)

Sorry mate, but they took Cannock off the bus route for the 18A.

I am awaiting your West Yorkshire tour, I’m sure you’d get a warm welcome at The Halton Moor.

And that pic of Den screaming into Bec’s face is great, isn’t it? Especially when you know Bec and you know full well she is a nano-second away from telling him to FUCK OFF and kicking him in the bollocks if he doesn’t stop!

Couldn’t you move a bit closer to Cambridgeshire? We love denim 70’s rock down here while we’re driving our tractors!

Tractors, you say?

Couldn’t you stick a Harley Davidson sticker on the side and rev them up a bit, you know, go for the whole 70’s Rock vibe.

Maybe we could take a leaf out of Rob Halford’s book and come on stage on a tractor…? Hmmmmm…*brain starts working overdrive*

If you’re ever on an international tour visiting belgium, count me in :)

Right, Den, being on the cover band circuit in the ol’ west midlands, have you ever seen or heard of a Beatles cover band called the Buttles?

The chappie I was on about is in The Cheatles and was for quite a while in The Zeatles (New Zealand tribute, but they did play here a few times before he came home…New Zealand to Pensnett! Why would you come back?!)

If we ever get a gig in Belgium, rest assured you will have 5 sweaty men knocking on your door for a bed for the night.

We like lager and free food, just for future reference.

oh mate!! :D I’m knackered now!!

Anyhoo, they were basically led by this beer bellied fella from Walsall. They looked nowt like the beatles and didn’t pretend to , but i tell you what, they were fucking magic. I saw them so many times. All you need is a few pints inside you and someone playing beatles music and your set. They’d tackle “day in the life” and “i am the walrus” and white album stuff, not just the popular shit. They’ve split up now, but i thought you might know they’re name.

Ace gig, had a great time. Basically, the football got me worked up, then we had a bollocking off the gaffer cos CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE BAND WHO WILL REMAIN NAMELESS (but it was PD and TUG) turned up late and he hates soundchecking when there’s people there. He tore a strip off our singer, so there we were all fired up with a point to prove, and as we had to do one long set instead of two shorter ones, I had my usual two lagers before the set instead of during, which loosened me up a bit.

Basically I jumped around like a twat and am now aching all over. It was filthy hot as well, so i was dripping with sweat. Somehow I still managed to woo the female, middle-aged section of the crowd, which is a knack I seem to have…Must’ve been the Clash-style star jumps…

How middle-aged is ‘middle-aged’? Are we talking 35 or 55 here? And aren’t you a bit old for star jumps:)

Dennis wrote:

Yes I am a bit old for star jumps. I am reliably informed that I looked a “twat”.

And we are talking late 40’s, for the most part, which is a bit rich coming from a 33 year old who is still doing jump kicks in American Idiot like he’s trying to be Joe Strummer in 77.
