Favourite film?

What is the best film you’ve ever seen? I like those independent British or mostly non-American films. The ones you can see in small theatres.

You don’t like Withnail and I? Shame on you, black comedy fan!

lol, okay, I know I’m going to take a beating for this but I have never managed to sit all the way through that film. I have tried repeatedly and I always fall asleep :(

I’m too scared to watch anything else on your list so I’ll give Withnail & I another shot, promise!

Nope, I like dark music, dark films, dark art, and dark literature. I will broaden my horizons at some point in the future, but just not yet :)

I like The Goonies. And some of your others, just not as favourite films.

My favourite novel is Dracula by BS, but these days Irvine Welsh and Charles Bukowski are my favourite writers. And yours?

I read Dracula years ago when I was about 12. It probably gave me nightmares. Did you ever read Polly and the Wolf? I was convinced that Wolf was going to eat me for years.

I loved Trainspotting, the film was lame compared to the book but I haven’t read anything else by Irvine Welsh and I don’t know Charles Bukowski.

My favourite authors are Robert Rankin (makes you cry tears of joy he’s so funny), Aldous Huxley (On drugs but facinating stuff), Simon Green (magical lands of dragons and castles etc) and I just finished reading a book by a guy called Martin Millar called Suzy, Led Zeppelin and Me which was fantastic.

Yep, you’re a big softy, it’s official.

IW other novels are great, as good as Trainspotting.

CB, I guess is a bloke’s writer. He’s a poet but I doubt whether many women would relate to his stuff.

Haven’t read any of the other ones you mention, but know about AH, I’ll read some sometime. :)

I know, I’m a complete wuss.

Aldous Huxley’s essays are pretty interesting, The Doors of Perception I would recommend but if you read anything then read Brave New World. I think that ranks as one of my all time favourite books.

When you decide to adventure out of your coffin then try Robert Rankin, he’s strictly for the sunny people ;)

When I read Brave New World it seemed familiar, but it just proved how influential Huxley was, and still is.

fave film: Natural Born Killers cos its one of those movies you can watch again and again and still notice something new, with a great cast, director, writer, and what a soundtrack!

fave book: still Trainspotting, I’ve never enjoyed reading a book so much, swinging between laughing out loud and feeling disgusted and sad.

Oh, almost forgot my fav comedy: Zoolander! I’ve seen in four times during my stay in Sydney, and the more I see it, the more I love it. Some of you probably think I’m a moron for loving the movie, but you gotta admit Owen Wilson and Will Ferrell (and also Ben and Jerry Stiller) are damn funny in this movie. That Hansel, he’s so hot right now…
