Young man, I suggest you take yourself down to the shops tomorrow and pick up Clerks on DVD.

Fucking brilliant film and it introduced us to the world of Jay and Silent Bob!

I thought it was due for late August to co-incide with Kevin Smith’s visit to the UK?

Saw it this afternoon. Here’s a mini-review with no real spoilers.

Not as good as the original, but excellent just the same.
(I’d probably rank it 3rd behind Chasing Amy and in front of Dogma)

Randall Graves rules!! some of his best rants ever. Just wait til you see how he deal with racism..hilarious!

Perfect amounts of Jay & Bob, alot like the were in the original but better… And Jay’s imitation of Buffalo Bob’s pee-pee dance from Silence of the Lambs is classic. They seemed to have gotten onto a big Merciful Fate kick..funny to hear King DIamond prominently in a movie. And Randall puts him to good use tormenting the uber-Christian Elias.

The Star Wars vs. Lord of the Rings stuff is great. And the donkey show must be seen to be believed.

I thought the ending was great, but I was a bit worried with the dance scene..Luckily it was kind of short and remenicent of the Fat Albert scene in Dogma (for those of you who’ve got the DVD).

A few cameos, Affleck is in there for 10 seconds, Jason Leee has a great one (personally I’d love to see a Randall and Brodie movie since they are cousins..oh well), also Ethan Suplee makes an appearance.

Two new major characters, Rosario Dawson as Becky. Dante & Randall’s boss a Mooby’s..she did a great job. And another character Elias as the super-Christian Lord of the Rings & Transformers lovin Mooby employee who Randall torments throught the film.

Kevin Smith’s wife plays as this rich chick who’s going to marry Dante and move him down to Florida. (This scenario is what the movie mainly revolves around).. she was good, not in it a whole lot. But she looks like over the last year or so she’s found Botox. She looks a little disturbing compared to her appearences in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back and on the Dogma DVD special features…it was a bit distracting.

This movie a much better send off than Jay & Bob Strike Back. And personally I think it had a perfect ending.
I thad a lot of heart, but also some of the nastiest (and funniest) jokes I’ve heard in a while. I’ll give one hint on one of the nasty conversations..ATM
