EXODUS were supposed to be playing on the Saturday, but it looks like it will be on Friday now.
Saturday would have been fantastic. EXODUS with Paul Bostaph on drums,… Then SLAYER and the UNHOLY ALLIANCE line-up on Sunday. I’d have made a 2 nighter out of it.

I just pee’d a little even thinking about it.

It’s mentioned on http://WWW.DUBLINMETALEVENTS.COM but the date is to be confirmed.

I first heard about it on the forums pages on http://WWW.METALIRELAND.COM
The promoter who organises a lot of metal gigs in Dublin posts there regularly. He originally said it will be on Saturday, but then said it has changed to Friday.

Been listening to this quite a lot in the last week or so since it arrived. Pretty good stuff :) It certainly has me looking forward to the gig more.

What a fuckin’ great tune “Overkill” is, eh? All the false endings are class!

Even after listening to it for the millionth time, I keep expecting it to just never end. For Lemmy to start the bass line again and just keep it going…

Doubtful.
Only reason T? are supporting in Dublin was because the slot became avilable and T? were the first band that applied for it I guess.

Right, it’s not 100% confirmed that it is moving to the Olympia yet but the promoter and bands involved are in discussions to decide. We should hear for definite early next week, and can assume that orginal tickets will still be valid.

The Olympia is a much smaller venue (about 2000 capacity), and it’s more central so easier access-wise.. I’ve not been to either so can’t really say how good they are :)

the points alright but its nowhere near as good as the odyssesy up in belfast. (which was voted in the top 5 venues in the uk or maybe even europe)

Unfortunaly the southerns are more reluclant to come up for a gig than we are to go down for one there. Lazy bastards. We got the better venues and cos of they’re lazy asses we have to use their shit stained sheds :P

(i say this in jest, i love you all really)

Just checked the map of Dublin and our hotel is on Copper Alley just near Olympia so this is good news for us:). But sad news if the gig has to be moved from the result of not so good presale of tickets.

What´s Olympia like, can you smoke fag and get a drink inside, good acoustic, can you see clearly to the stage etc?

My sixhundredsixtysixth post, I´m so “EVIL” at the moment:D

checked my map of dublin last night and realised that the venue at o connell street is the ambassdor.

the Olympia is just west of trinity college, just past the temple bar area which means its not as long a walk to the hostel.

As for the smoking business id hazzard a guess that since every irish bar is non smoking i reckon the same apllies to the theatres.

edit. ***

no smoking it seems

Olympia is a decent venue, gets very warm though seen as it’s so small, you can drink while the bands are playing though I think it’s a fiver a pint. Also you can pretty much see the whole stage no matter where you stand coz the floor slopes slightly downwards towards the stage. I’d prefer the olympia to the point anyway :)
