No but I read something somewhere where he hinted towards a falling out with the band.
There is a derek riggs website, maybe it says summat on there? (Dunno the address, sorry)

shame really, cos for me he’s as much a part of their success/appeal as the band themselves. Their artwork since has been tripe.

Yes.
(Not a Dave Gorman’s mate joke, just I agree, is all)
EDIT:
And to jump back to what someone else said, I am not a big fan of Maiden, but I’d love to see a nice expanded version of Live After Death released on DVD…Surely this will come sooner or later with all these vault-clearing DVD collections they are releasing.

I voted for Paul Di anno cause ‘Killers’ is one of my favourite albums, some brilliant songs on there especially wrathchild and killers. Even the album cover is great.

Its gotta be Bruce, he the man!
I thought Paul was great and even Blaze i thought did a good job on X Factor, despite a far more limited range. I thought it added a dark, brooding side to the band as opposed to the operatic screaming!
But Bruce IS , as they say, the MAN!!!
I think the band and Derek Riggs fell out cos the band asked loads of other artists to design different versions of Eddie and Iron Maiden own the image, not Derek.

That’s interesting, because I’ve heard that, though they had the ‘Eddie The Head’ mask above the drummer before, the actual artwork for Iron Maiden was something of Riggs’ that they saw and liked.
So I could see why he might be pissed off.

I’d have to go with Blaze Bayley.
Whilst the X factor and virtual xi aren’t the best Maiden albums by a long shot, they are nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be (especially considering the shite that is no prayer…), and they contain some really good tracks (Sign of the cross anyone?).
Having said all that, Blaze’s solo work blows Maiden out of the water. Brave new world was the first decent Maiden album for a long time, but that piddly widdly wannabe-epic stuff from Dance of death? Boring wank, which has nothing on Blood & belief (well, apart from The path and the way, which I would describe as ‘dat zeiknummer’.)

I was surprised when I watched the Iron Maiden Story (Early Years) DVD they didn’t sugarcoat how he acted around the end. He couldn’t handle the big time so drank to get through it.
But he actually fessed up and admitted what a mess and a prick he was, and how much Maiden got when Bruce came along…he was pretty class actually.
