As you might know he’s Finnish and has made quite a few films in his career. “Drifting clouds”, “I hired a contract killer” are among the best known. His characters usually don’t speak, or as little as possible, rather Finnish so to speak. He portraits Finland as a bit of a rough place which it isn’t, but the Tourist Board aren’t too happy with his way of portraying the place.

Not very useful, I know, but give it a go! You might like his style. I do, and I wish the world would actually be like his movies… :eek:

Edited to say: “bleak” might be a word to describe his work

Kubrick is one of the most over rated directors of all time.

He did a pretty good job on that one, whether over-rated, under-rated, or precicely-rated.
