At Uni - I was a fully paid up member of the subsidised uni gym.

It was brilliant - I played badminton

twice

in two years

so I didn’t join in my 3rd year - I spent the money on wine women and Shameless. 2 out of 3 ain’t bad (I like Shameless tho)

I’m currently going twice a week & trying to run 5 times. After October I’ll probably go three times a week & cut back on the running. Don’t like my new gym though :(

Was at Fitnesss First, which is pikey. Now at LA Fitness for various reasons, not convinced its much better.

Not yet at the whole protein-shake-5-mins-after-weights stage yet.

Don’t know if this is true of all protein shakes, but apparently there’s at least one brand that gains a third of its protein from the milk you have to add it to. Or to put it another way, you could just drink three glasses of milk…

Just back from the gym. I don’t drink any protein shakes either… not yet anyway.

I’m using the local leisure centre’s gym, because I get in for 50P.
Also getting a personal training session tomorrow night which will mean I’m also getting a personal rugby training plan sorted out for me. I’ll be built like a tank soon! :D

I hope your personal training session is being taught by a woman, or I’d hope there’s mirrors all around the walls if it’s a dude…if you get my drift.

And it’s a man, women are useless.
I’ve just invited two lovely lady friends to go to the gym with me, so they’re coming to the gym with me on Friday. :)

I’m such a lucky bastard at times..

I use the gym 4 times a week now, but in september, when music class starts it will be 3 times. I don’t do that weight lifting thing, because I don’t want to be muscular. Just the cardio and the group lessons, like spinning, dancing, tea bo, I love

A hot lady trainer would defintely be an incentive over some gay dude who fancies the pants off himself…

Your work out doesn’t consist of walking up and down the stairs all night, does it? :p

Just got my fitness regime done out… 30 mins of non stop running on a treadmill at 9.3MPH… not exactly easy. My rowing was “excellent” though.
Also doing a lot of press ups, squats and I’ve been warned to stay away from weights because it will affect my growth. :(

Nah, I have an exercise bike, a weights bench and a whole bunch of free weights…

I have only been to the gym a couple of times in my life, and the few times i went, there were men in 70’s style shorts and vests grunting and gurning… was quite un-nerving.

9.3 mph? Bloody hellfire that’s fast!

CS (Colin S) wrote:

No, MPH.

It’s broken down, so you do 5 mins at 9.3MPH, check your BPM, if it’s at a safe level, continue for 30 mins. If it’s not at a safe level (Like mine last night), you break it into 3 minutes at 9.3MPH and 2 minutes at 3.8MPH. The slowing down will help decrease your BPM. Then, once you get used to it, you can do it fully at 9.3MPH for 30 mins.
9.3MPH is pretty fast, but when I’m on a treadmill I just think of staying on it, so it doesn’t bother me that much..

Wait, you’re 15 right?

Technically you shouldn’t be getting trained by a personal trainer because you are too young.

I’m sure there’s health and saftey issues involved in this, but maybe not.

I used to do slower sprints but faster recoveries. But my new gym has crappy treadmills which are a pain in the arse to change the speeds on, so now I just run outside.

Yes, I’m 15.
The guy keeps a very close watch on me and checks my pulse every 5 minutes. He has also told me to stay off weights.
He knows what he’s doing.

Why’d you need a personal trainer at 15? Go out and exercise yourself.
