I saw them play it once, years ago, either at the Leadmill or Rock City. Can’t remember. Either way, it sounded awesome and it’s by far one of the best T? songs ever made. Certainly one of the most musically creative T? songs, with a hint of weirdness. If it makes the set list, I may just have to buy all the songs twice!

put an interview from one of their gigs in Germany WITHOUT overdub as an attachment. Quality is somewhat poor and I had to cut it in 2 pieces (part 2 comes in the following reply), but nontheless have fun.
(Before changing the message boards’ software in August 2007 this post had a file attachment, which may return in the future)

Maybe the reason Long Distance isn’t on there is cos they’ve chosen to play that one anyway :D

Good call. Any Myspaz people might like to point that out on T?’s page… I know the WoMbles will be more interested in the rare stuff but I think a lot of ‘friends’ over there will only have heard of Troublegum…
Are you suggesting that the votes by WoMbles are being dwarfed by these other people and we’re gonna get Troublegum from start to finish?

*Applauds the bow* Good job, Rene!
I’m surprised it wasn’t on the list originally — if any of the guys spend any time on here I’m sure they’d have realised how many times Suing God has been brought up as being a very popular song (esp for a B-side).

THANK YOU. I’m so impressed Suing God made the list, and by the look of the voting, I imagine it will make the setlist!

I’m SO glad ‘Gimme Back My Brain’ was included in the shortlist - I was sure it wouldn’t be in the list as I don’t think the band have played it live since the tour for ‘Shameless’.
They opened in Swindon’s Furnace with Gimme Back My Brain which was only a year or two ago. Great song live, and probably the only part of Shameless worth remembering.

Speaking more generally, on the basis the band have offered you the fans the chance to select the set list, it is a bit out of order to start mentioning songs not on the list of options. Be grateful!

The band are probably shitting themselves now. ‘Lads, we’re going to have to figure out how to play it.’

I think a good way of picking a top three is as follows:
A: For your first choice pick a classic track that exemplifies the T? sound…my classic was Meat Abstract
B: A song thats not on Troublegum/rarely played…i picked Little Tongues First
C: A new song to balance out the classics that will inevitably top the list and also a song to showcase the bands talents…I chose Our White Noise

The idea behind this gig is good, but if there are no fans present then I worry that the performance will be lacklustre. T? are renouned for ‘feeding’ off an excited crowd. If there’s just a film crew present and no audience, I think the boys will be somewhat subdued.
So I hope there will be some kind of audience present.

Sister
Plumped for the less obvious (sort of) / unreleased - can’t see the point in anything from Troublegum, much as I love it. Not only to hear older toons, but also hear them done NOW. Not re-worked, necessarily (I like the early stuff as it is) just as a fresh version! Nearly picks included “Limbo”, “Loser Cop” and “Die Like a Motherfucker”. And where’s “Punishment Kiss”? Also “Dancin with Manson” but eliminated that cos it’s on the audio section of the site! Heh, had difficulty in eliminating pretty much EVERY song at one pont, though.
Kind of hoped that “Isolation” would be a choice, always found that’s the kind of encore song that sends fingers walking up yer spine and leaves you with a stupid melon-slice grin on yer gob. Notice it hasn’t been mentioned, yet, however … not a popular choice?
Oh, sorry, this message is wayyyyy too long

I don’t really mind what gets picked as long as they’re not obvious ones - although I remember when we had to vote for 3 songs for them to play live they were stuff like Screamager, Nowhere etc
