sorry to dredge this thread up again but i’ve spent the last 40 minutes or so in the musical company of the bluetones “expecting to fly” album. and it was ace.

I always hated The Lightning Seeds when they were all over the place but i found a best of comp in my house the other day and was suprised to find i listened to it all the way through without skipping tracks and thoroughly enjoyed it. Its strange how tastes change as you get older.

Does anyone remeber a band called Marion?

Met the one of the guitarists and his new band a while back - what a cunt.

Marion were OK.

Dunno if it’s the same guy you are on about, but one of the guitarists is now in New Order, after being their touring guitarist for a while.

Nah, not the New Order one ;)

This one was yapping on about himself like he was God and that Marion had been the most important thing to ever happen, plus a load of other bilge tha he pumped out of his mouth. The most arrogant-self-important-and-from-what-I’d-just-
seen-moments-before-nothing-special-guitarist I’ve ever come across.

I had a low opinion of him after all that but when, on my slightest mention of T? he launched into a lecture on “How shit Andy Cairns is” I thought “Maybe glassing him will shut him up.”

Space were kind of entertaining in the same way as Cast and Dodgy… pointless fluff, but quite fun.
