Well sadly and probably not unsurprising because of how these stupid thing work.. the usual shitty bands have made it to the final stage of the kerrang awards and Therapy? are not nominated for anything.:9 oh well!

It can never be wrong or a waste of time to fight/support the people/things that you beleive in. It’s just that the views of Kerrang! (all other versions of the name duely noted and accepted)had to be diluted to actually sell the poor excuse for bog paper (yes, I have before you ask - you try it before you ask any further questions!!)

I gave the K! loo roll about 8 years ago - coincdentally the same period that my mother (50+, currently likes Rasmus & HIM - mainly for the faces fronting them - you can’t call them men) started to buy it.

So don’t lose the faith my friend - just remember which battles you can win & those that the pound signs have already won!!

there seems to be a lot of tension here, these are my honest opinions:

james, to me, ur a good bloke but u really need to respect charlies opinions, everyones entitled to their own opinions. charlie isnt a miserable git, in fact, he is one of the nicest, kindest people ive ever had the pleasure to speak to, even tho i aint met him yet but i know what people r like.

i love green day, american idiot is very good although it is overplayed, dookie is the best one.

i buy kerrang! evry week, i love it!!! at least they love t? the only bad review they had was KKK at a gig. that aint bad, they mainly get KKKK or KKKKK.

this tension has to stop, we r all friends here. at the end of the day its peoples opinions no matter how much we agree/disagree.

Did ANYONE actually like the Therapy? article in the mag? I thought the pic was just a plain piss take and I think Kerrang didn’t want to help T? in any way. Sure, they were featured… I didn’t buy the mag, but if I’m correct, did they say avoid High Anxiety?!?!

Sorry, but that was the album that got me properly into Therapy?

The thing is, bands are popular for a few reasons.

1. They’re signed to a big label who can afford to have a say in what goes in which magazine or media outlet. Take MCR and the like. Those sorts of bands were instant hits when they were featured all over the music media. Unfortunately, T? don’t have the luxury of having a label with big bucks and in turn do not not have as much of a say when it comes to column inches.

2. The music. Sometimes for some bands, in the eyes of a record company, this is not as important as image. They want the band to sell records to make money. The more their bands are in the media, the more they will sell. Therapy? have gone down the route of trying to sell the music, not the image which is why I believe they’ve lasted so long. To take MCR as an example again, they won’t be around forever. Soon a newer band will become the focus of the record company which means MCR will be left on their own, and eventually will disappear.

Kerrang! is an impressionable magazine for teenagers because let’s face it, not many teenagers want to be seen as the black sheep if you will, so whatever trend is “cool” will be the one they follow. I’m still a teenager at 18, but I like to think I don’t really let anyone influence what I do anymore because there’s no peer pressure. This is mainly true, but everyone compromises to fit in sometimes.

In terms of music, I don’t really give two hoots about what sort of music I like. If it sounds good to me, I don’t care what other folk think. At school it was a different matter, and that’s where the problem lies.

So basically what I’m trying to say is that Therapy would be featured more in Kerrang! if they were signed to a bigger label. If Kerrang went full throttle Therapy? for two months straight, I think we’d see who really likes the music and who follows trends. But would you rather have more “fans” or people who actually appreciate the music that the lads make?

Damn right! This is an awesome album! Its easy listening and filthy and heavy. Even Metallica can’t do that anymore!
