Btw, has anyone heard the infamous (and their only album not released on CD?) “Into the Unknown”? It’s supposed to be somehing completely different.

Title: Recipe For Hate

I don’t know why, but for me this album really stands out. The songs are great and some sound very different than anything BR have done before or since. Eddie Vedder is on that album, the lyrics are great, to say it quickly, I LOVE THAT ALBUM.

Anyway, it’s strange that many people think it’s only average. I think because BR is a band that has been playing one and the same song for over 20 years now, it’s different for everyone. People probably always love the album they heard first the most. In my case that album is RECIPE FOR HATE.

I agree…Great album, but all Bad Religion ones are great, so it’s difficult to choose…anyway songs like AMERICAN JESUS, RECIPE FOR HATE, LOOKIN’IN, PORTRAIT OF AUTHORITY,WATCH IT DIE…and the rest are GREAT…

I am really suprised that nobody else picked Suffer, granted it was the first BR album I heard but I am always going back and listening to that masterpiece.

I’m listening to it this minute. It IS different. A lot of keyboards. Not really good, though.

Finished watching their new DVD “Live at the Palladium” earlier today. Thought I’d give a rundown for anyone interested. (and if your not, FU!)

Rather well done, only small gripe was that Greg’s voice was a bit to prominent in the mix.

Cool to see them playing with Brett.

Fist part was heavy with stuff from EMpire Strikes First, but the second half has more of the classics You,
Do What You Want, Fuck Armageddon, Infected, Atomic Garden, Generator, Only Gonna Die, American Jesus, Recipe for Hate. Ends with a great version of Sorrow.

It still surprises me how strong the backing vocals are, as strong as the albums. Throwing Brett into the mix, makes them even stronger.

Also includes a bunch of interviews, and some absolutely hilarious footage from a local TV show circa 1980 and 1982. You can’t help but die laughing at the 1980 stuff. Greg is only about 15 and his voice cracks…priceless.

Even more extra goodies, are all the Epitaph videos, Recipe for Hate, American Jesus, Atomic Garden, Broken, Sorrow, LA Burning, and some others.

Highly Recommended, for Bad Religion fans.
