Surely if they play it, they won’t need to cover it, as it IS actually their song, technically.

i would love Andy a million times more than i already do if he could actually play Page’s solo, cos all of them are stupidly hard cos he fully understnads and is fluent in jazz, then applied that knowledge to metal. would be damn cool if they got Page to come do it :)

Sorry I didn’t mean covered…

I was tired when making the topic thats my excuse :). Andy would have to be a good guitarist considering how long he’s been playing and his experience anyways etc etc :D

I have no doubt he can play the solo, the problem is making it sound as good and fitting. I wonder how they’ll take care of that space.. I’m not a big fan of stopping the rhythm guitar for the solo. Perhaps an alternative guitar melody is in store?

Maybe so!

It’s good to see Andy is reconised as a decent guitar player, he certainly isn’t your average “hey luk at me play relly fazt!1111” kinda guys.

Yeah, they used to play it all the time, when Andy did the old “Halfway Down The Stairs” intro..which worked a treat.

Andy has admitted he wasn’t that great but i’ve never heard him fuck up and solo from Unbeliever was always good to me.
That to me is a good guitarist, one who is so good you don’t notice anything bad - rather than one who shows off!

That intro was a regular feature on that tour. There’s indeed something special the way Andy sung it at Brixton though.
I’ve got two versions of Unbeliever from the Brixton gig with the intro. One is on the fistful of power bootleg. The other I downloaded from somewhere, and it sounds as if the source was different, maybe from MTV recorded. It’s really chilling. The bootleg version sounds sort of too clean.
