What do you mean three times lucky? Have you just done it again?
Do you play any sports? I hope you are not a gym fanatic like me cause then you will be so frustrated let me tell you. There is a guy at my gym who broke his collar bone in rugby. He didnt need an op but the collar bone has healed into a v and he says he battles to push upwards a little bit.
Please tell me how it happened and what does it feel like and what surgery did you have and that sort of thing.Let me hear you out. I have just had an operation for suprascaoular nerve impingement in my left shoulder and you know what? It is now 7 weeks since the operation and the fucker has left me with a fat fucking scar and I still cannot rotate my arm properly and I still battle to push in any direction. I used to curl 24 kg dumbells many times, the other day I nervously tried 10 kg dumbells and my left arm could only just lift the dumbell but a pain radiated down my arm and it was like I was rubbing a tendon or something.
My left arm was for lack of a better word spastic. My left arm is just so fucking stupid now. Because of my nerve impingement I have completely lost function of three of my rotator cuff muscles. Trust me that is like a woman trying to make love to a 1 inch dick! Fucking impossible, excuse the pun! I have lost 13 kilos of pure muscle that I worked my ass of for nd now I am back to being the skinny fuck that I am. It may not sound that important to others but look how fat people feel like dirt. I hate being skinny too, a dude the other day asked me if I have something wrong with my chest because my chest muscles have completely disappeared because I just cannot push anything. To make matters worse I am trying to get a job as personal fitness trainer. You know what, fuck it let’s get some rifles and shoot ourselves! HAHAHA
Dont worry bro you’ll make it! Just hang in there you’ll be better in no time, just make sure you’re doctors dont mess you around. My first orthopaedic surgeon said I should wait for 2 months, I did and guess what I still couldnt use my arm. Always get a second opinion! All the best dear Ronald!

well, i really cured well the first time( snowboardaccident). the doctors in the netherlands are not to keen on surgeries for collarbones, they rather let you cure in the conservative way. my arm is supported by a brace and i have to do exercises every day to prevent my arm/ shoulder getting stiff. i am confident i will be better again but i am quite fanatic with sports as well, so sittting down on my arse is one of my weak spots. i have already decided that i am gonna stop snowboarding since my shoulder will be a weak spot. this time i broke it at the lowlands festival, i slipped and fell…ok, i have only one typing arm now, so that’s it for the moment. i hope your arm will be better in the near future!

btw, i got a second opinion, because on the 1st picture they didn’t see any breaks, but it felt bad, so i went to an oher doctor and he got a better camara…

cheers, ronald

Ah snowboarding accidents… in the last few years i have broken my the same ribs about four times and had a few concussions. I mainly stick to free riding these days and let the younger less battered generation do the ramps and rails. I do know the feeling about thinking of stopping… as the ribs are so weak, but i love doing it so much.

Hope you feel better soon dude:)

I’m rather good at sitting on my arse all day, except for a bit of tarmac pounding, and therefore am jealous of anyone that can snowboard or do other cool exciting sports.

The more jealous I get, the more likley I am to get off said arse and do something, therefore GET WELL SOON! Hope you find something equally coo to replace snowboarding!

Lower the weight and do more repitiones. Try doing arm elevations above 90 degree abduction of the arm. That should help with re-education the nerve. For the rotator cuff, use isometric exercises. That should help. (carefull though, ‘cus one thing is what they said they did, and another is what they did. Those are standard rehabilitation exercises for suprascapualar. But I can’t diagnose without seeing, of course. Hope it helps anyway).

If it makes you feel any better Ronald , at least they spotted it was broken.
Years ago I broke my collarbone in a car accident but in hospital they overlooked this on the x-rays. Three painful months later I went back and the doc told me it had been broken and grown back together the wrong way.
Next thing they do is get a nice little hammer out and I think you can guess the rest…

Hi Cuchulain I have also broken my scaphoid bone from car accident and they didnt see break in x ray. 8 months later my sensai did a move on me and it rebroke. Well it was broken anyway. Funny stuff. I always tought to myself that the pain in my wrist was perhaps just a bit of stretched tendons or something like that meanwhile the break was actually stopping a good amount of blood to my hand. All of this adds to a lousy sex life! haha
