The smell of pernod :S I once drank a litre of pernod in a weekend. I was not at all well, as far as I can remember.
Ohhh yeah  indeed. Aniseed-flavoured alcoholic drink? Whyyyy? Whose idea was that?
Actually, same applies to all drinks of a similar ilk … dangerous and best avoided. Ouzo, for one, and a number of years ago I also once had a … errr … lost weekend after drinking too much Turkish grape-spirit, after which I apparently spent some 36 hours lumbering around Istanbul trying to find where I was staying. By the time I finally found my hotel, I was missing one of my shoes and, curiously, a single tee-shirt sleeve. Not to mention several million brain cells. And the hangover, I’ve had NOTHING worse, before or since …

lol :D Maybe you tore of your T-shirt sleeve to use as a protective cover for your shoeless foot, and then didn’t notice when it fell off? Alternatively you might have caught it on a branch and just dangled there for hours until it fell off. Such possibilities … Is your brain better yet? :)
I really like Ouzo …

Splashed out on an Arrendell Pinot Noir over dinner on Sat night.
Out on the night followed by a couple of Boon Kriek ( not easy to find in Dublin ! ) and for old time sake a number of Grolsch swing-tops.
Bit of a contrast with the better half , who stuck with her favoured Bulmers Light all day
Sunday started as usual with some Leffe in my local in the afternoon and a good Lindemans Cawarra - Shiraz during din-dins.

My other half’s sister went on a booze cruise the other week and came back with 6 bottles of red for us without being asked (we didn’t know she was going and don’t have any money :().
Have opened two of them so far and both have been off :(

Curiously, when ever I’m in a pub I ask for Stella or Kronenbourg. At the off-licence it’s the same. I don’t even like lager that much. I prefer real ale or wine.
I think I’m a victim of advertising… help… I’m being controlled by (what did George Bush say?) sublibinimal (sic) messages…?

Aren’t I just. That spell just keeps working, and working, and working.
Kind of a nice spell to be under, though.
