Diane video

I was just watching the video for ‘Diane’ on youtube and wondering if anyone knows what’s supposed to be going on? Sorry if I’m being thick or if this has been mentioned before, I just couldn’t quiet get my head round it.

Exactly. And I feel the same about “Loose”. I think that video should reflect the song and in this case it seems that video and song have absolutely nothing in common.

Whenever i see the Diane video it always strikes me that the whole video is supposed to represent a rape. For instance, when Andy cuts the tape at the beggening, he’s breaking into the womans vagina, him thrusting against the bar…well…pretty self-explanitory, the woman being pregnant may represent the fact that andy has entered a place of life (The womb), him holding the woman at the end and rubbing her face could be that he’s killed her, the woman holding Andy could be seen in a way as to him having somewhat died a little inside from his deed. Another big factor that this is all represents rape is the fact that when the camera cuts out of the room, the camera pulls back from between two legs which at the beggening of the video were two mountains.
See what happens when you take Higher English in school :D

P.S. With the end line ‘And it’s over now, with my knifeeeeeee’ i can never decide as to whether it’s supposed to mean he killed her or the posibility he pulled the knife on himself…hmmmm

I’d never seen the video for loose so I just watched it on youtube. It’s dreadful. Apparently there were a lot of drugs going round the rock scene then? Would’ve thought?

The longer video of loose to fit the remix I always thought was very good and ‘fitted’ pretty well. Its after watching that version that I realised how good the video actually is. The video is soooooo oposite to the album version that its hard for your eyes to share with your ears. Im pretty sure that the video was made for the remix, if youve not seen it, check it out and you’ll see what I mean.
