“High Anxiety”? That’s the name of a Pet Lamb album! Those thieving Therapy? bastards! :-)

Weren’t Pet Lamb signed to Andy Cairns’ record label many years ago? Maybe it’s a tribute ;)

Yes indeed. You’re very right - Andy actually formed Blunt Records so he could release Pet Lamb’s first EP simply cos he loved it so much.

They supported Therapy? loads of times in the early days, and at the excellent fan club gig in Dublin in 1996. The ‘Lamb actually blew out one of Therapy?s speakers cos they were so loud - fantastic!

Their ‘High Anxiety’ album never got released cos they were dropped by those feckers at RoadRunner Records. It’s a class album though - Dylan from the band sent it to me a while ago. Cool guy.

And since you’re such a cool guy you’re gonna send me a copy? *pouts*

I don’t have much by Pet Lamb - a couple of tracks on a Roadrunner promo tape and a 7” with The Cleaver and Bangkok. All good stuff though.

Really? You want a copy? No problem! (You’ll have to wait a while till I get blanks in) Do you have their “Sweaty Handshake” album? It’s deadly and easy to get. You could pick up one on the ‘net for a quid, probably.

I’ll let ya know when those darned blanks arrive.

Okay. Okay. Whoever wants a copy of the cd, just send me an email with your address and I’ll send you one free of charge!

Dylan from the band sent me the cd for free (he didn’t even ask me to pay postage), but he did say to copy it for anyone who wanted it so that’s what I’ll do. Only a few friends of the band have ever heard this album so he kinda wanted more people to hear it.

The only thing is you’ll have to wait till October cos I’m going to New York for a few weeks very soon. It’ll be worth the wait though, cos it’s a cool album!

Hia Chris, long time no chat :) What are you doing here? *whispers* I thought you hated Therapy?

Al - just been having a look on Amazon for Pet Lamb. They’ve got Tenderness in, any good? Sweaty Handshake (on vinyl no less, yey ;) ) is out of stock. I’ll check eBay.

I clicked on the Blunt link to see what other stuff was on the label and it’s all hip-hop stylee, including a Snoop Dog single. Can we safely assume there is another Blunt Records and Amazon are a bit confused?

Tenderness was Pet Lamb’s last album and I think they’d lost interest at that stage cos the album is, well, I just don’t like it!

It lacks a lot of the heaviness and melodicness that the band were all about, so I’d say forget about it. Definately try for Sweaty Handshake though. You’ll think it’s shit the first time you hear it, but you’ll quickly grow to love it. At least I did anyway. :-)

Hiya again Hoochalobster, yeah, I admit it, I don’t “do” much rock music, I like industrial sounds but not, you know, full on guitars etc!!!

Watching VH1 - the 100 worst videos of all time. Truly inspired stuff. Singing along Mr Smithers style to The Weathergirl’s “It’s Raining Men”…

BTW, I like this edit function, allows me to correct all my typos!!!

Title: Pet Lamb

Hi folks,

Just back from holidays. The blank cdr’s I was waiting ages for were waiting at home so I’ll be able to do those copies of Pet Lambs “High Anxiety” album for everybody that asked. Ironically enough, I’ve just realised, that album was recorded in New York - which was where I’ve just come back from. Neat.

Chris, the apostrophe in “weathergirls” should be after not before the S. So much for your editing ;) Just kidding, you been okay? How’s Sally? Hope all’s cool with you guys.

Alaaaaaaan! Glad you survived, how was the dive? Looking forward to hearing High Anxiety - let me know if you’re after anything that I’ve got in return :)

I’m feeling extra smug in the T? stakes today because a friend just posted me Face The Strange on CD and a nice man who sells records has vowed that I get first refusal on all T? stuff that comes his way - woohoo!

Yeah, that Weathergirls’ video was pretty bad. But the worst this year has to be Papa Don’t Preach by Kelly Osbourne. The song is ok, but that video… it’s pathetic!!
And Smithers rules, why else do you think I haven’t changed my signature since two years?!
