Where to advertise for band members..

#

Started by Dennis

Anyone know any good websites I can post ads on for a new drummer and singer for my band?

I have used a couple already, musofinder and one called Musicians Web, as well as a few shitty ones that don’t stick in my head..
But does anyone know of a good one I am missing?

I am also planning to bombard local music shops and rehearsal rooms with posters, but does anyone have any other suggestions, apart from the local newspapers?

I read recently that people have started selling advertising space on their body. If you shaved your head you could advertise on the back of it… thus gaining extra exposure and making a tidy profit, providing you charge yourself a reasonable rate.

Also providing you get up off your arse and go out in public, you lazy sod.

A better option would be to pay me the advertising money to shave your advert into someone’s head. *eyes Hooch speculatively*

Another alternative is to use a custom-made knuckle-duster to make your mark… *punches d on forehead* - observe, the red scabby bit now reads ‘I’m an idiot’. :p

True :D

I must admit though, whilst I managed to do a great advert on my shaven head using poster paints, one or two people have made stupid comments about it being written “backwards”.

How dumb of them! I know it isn’t backwards, I checked it in the mirror before I left the house…

Cheh, they’re fools. I had the exact same thing with my ‘I’m An Idiot’ tattoo. They know nothing, man.

Oh… I thought “toidi na ma I” was latin for something…

I thought you must have your own latin motto or something.

Mine translates roughly as:

“Don’t expect too much, I mean, I will have a go, like, but I will probably fuck it up. But hey, at least I will own up!”

Hence I never had it tattooed on my arm..too damn long*

(*the motto, of course, not my arm, which suits me just fine, thanks for asking)

Why? Is it maybe a window? I had that problem, too. After I first got my tattoo done, I went back and complained that it wasn’t what I asked for. The guy asked me in what way. I told him, at no point did I ask for a garden to be tattooed on my head, complete with neighbour’s cat shitting into the shrubbery.

Turns out there’d been a mistake though, and he explained I must have been looking out of the window. But I pity that poor fucker I saw who had a tattoo of my garden on his face.
