I think your source has made this rubbish up and Fyfe himself would be upset if he found out there are rumours of his death being spread around.
Hey gimmie - richey was actualyy IN the band when he went missing! ;)

I wish I could say yes. :(
But you can plainly see it from that online drumming ad. “Original Therapy? drummer”.. Unless there was a drummer before Fyfe I am pretty sure that Fyfe is still alive and that he wrote that. :)

That’s the most depressing thing I’ve seen in a while. It’s even more depressing than the “What would you do if Therapy? split up?” thread :( I mean he’s probably the best rock drummer ireland has ever produced! :( :(
As to people up there asking why he left, I reckon he must have had some kind of breakdown. God Bless ‘im!
Long live Fyfe!

From all the info out there (official and otherwise) he didn’t have a breakdown.
There should be some info on this here somewhere on the board. I lost the one link I had.
But the most common reasons put forward are a combination of
1) Didn’t like the rockstar lifestyle
2) Didn’t like the drug use within the band at the time
3) Wanted to persue different musical interests.
4) He felt it was better for his own health, and his friendship with the others that he leave.
Basically he’d been there, done that and moved on..good for him.
I think it’s also encouraging he’s looking to get back into things. I hope wherever he lands it’s a success! He’s one of the most original and talented drummers to come around in a long while, and the music world could use more of him.

I tend to agree with that.
The only unofficial info I have is from when Michael was gettin pissed with a couple of mates of mine and Tokyo Dragons (this was a few years ago now), and they asked him about Fyfe and what he was up to, and he said that he honestly didn’t have clue. He just said Fyfe didn’t answer or return calls etc towards the end, and that they hadn’t seen or heard of him since.

^Yeah, that’s interesting - seen it before. Although I do tend to equate the “strain” cited there and pretty much “never being seen again” with breakdown.
However, I obviously hope that you’re right and that he just moved on to lead life the way he wanted it - and that’s the last I’ll say on this matter! :)

Don’t know about you but i can’t think of anything more boring than listening to solo drums!
Fyfe got to live the dream then blew it. His problem.

Therapy? would not exist if it weren’t for Fyfe, not only was he founder, I’m pretty positive his tight precise (techno/Dance) influenced method of bashing his over tightened skins gave Therapy? a sound which got them noticed and thatÂ’s what made Fyfe a distinctive drummer - he may not have been a great solo drummer but man was he tight.
The fact that he’s seeking pay’d work only would indicate to me that, well he’s skint and I find that quite sad because he could play with any band and he’d be noticed.
When Fyfe left, Therapy ceased to be Chocolate Cheesecake, and became Cheesecake - don’t get me wrong though cos I love Cheesecake, hmmm cheesecake
