I’ve not bought many new albums this year but these are the ones i’ve liked…
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
James Dean Bradfield - The Great Western
Thom Yorke - The Erazer
Ginger - Valor Del Corazon
Lacuna Coil - Karmacode
Therapy? - One Cure Fits All
Muse - Black Holes and Revelations
Scissor Sisters - Ta Dah!
Not strictly an album but the Silver EP by Jesu was one of my most played CD’s this year and it’s worth checking out.
There’s lots of album i’ve not got around to buying yet due to me wasting money on things like food, bills and driving lessons but hopefully i should pick up a few more 06 albums in the New Year sales.
For me the most disappointing album of 06 has been Tool 10.000 Days.
The best re-releases this year have been…
Manic Street Preachers - Everything Must Go 10TH Anniversary Edition
Mansun - Legacy The Best Of

james dean bradfield - the great western
the alpine - on feel trips
slut - songs aus der dreigroschenoper (okay, that’s not really an album, but should have been)
I AM X - the alternative
the pipettes - we are the pipettes

Also enjoyed Satyricon’s Now, Diabolical.
Too be honest when i first got this i was a bit disappointed, i really liked the first two songs but the rest of the album i found too restrained. Yesterday however i was blasting it out in my car and it clicked a lot more it is a bit more of a standard rock album for them but a fucking good one at that:)

Therapy? - One Cure Fits All
Iron Maiden - A Matter of Life and Death
Voivod - Katorz
REM - And I Feel Fine
Lamb Of God - Sacrament
Mastodon - Blood Mountain
Converge - No Heroes
But to be honest, my fave albums that I bought this year were old albums, like Helmet’s Meantime and Death Angel’s Act 3. I bought a few albums this year and next year should be interesting, cause I’m running out of space for my CDs.

List of the year!

Flaming Lips - At War With The Mystics
Muse - Black Holes And Revelations
Albert Hammond Jr - Yours To Keep
Adam Green - Jacket Full Of Danger
The Strokes - First Impressions Of Earth
I have to admit. I’ve been pretty lazy with my album buying this year. I’ve mainly been digging into older stuff and listening to a lot of KID A and getting into Violent Femmes and King Missile rather than listening to any new tunes…meh.

I would like to add Sugababes Overloaded to my list - some great pop tunes on there and every single one has its own identity unlike some of the plodding rock albums ive heard this year. Seriously, get it - its good !!
