Treasured items

Following on from Tim’s thread - what’s everybody’s most treasured Therapy? item? I said my fanclub ‘94 tape but I think probably also Troublegum on cassette cause it’s the first T? thing I ever bought.

I have this picture of me with ALL the bandmembers (Andy, Michael, Martin, Graham) that is kinda special to me. I don’t attach to much value to items like cd’s and stuff, stuff that is replaceable.

I have the hat that Andy wore in Ankara concert in 1997. He gave it to me after the show!

None merchandise wise I think one of Fyfe’s drumsticks and a setlist, both given to me by Michael, are my most precious things.

A really cool email that Andy sent to me. It’s nothing special, but it came at a point of my life when everything seemed to be going wrong and it just made me feel so much better.

Apart from that, the signed picture i’ve got on the wall of my toilet.

Too much to mention, loads of pictures and gadgets, but I think even more are memories and meeting other people.

The thing I will treasure for as long as I live, is my girlfriend because I met her thanks to Therapy?: their music brought us together and I thank Andy, Michael, Martin, Fyfe, Graham & Keith every day for it.

And there’s no drumstick, setlist, CD or vinyl that could ever compete with this…

Yeah, the intangible things are most important, aren’t they? I’ll never forget that perfect weekend in Zottegem last year, the best weekend of my life! And I met so many nice people, the T? fans are just great people to hang out with!

Heh heh, they’re good like that. I bought the black infernal love tshirt with the red foil design and it all came off in the wash :( I wrote to them and they changed the manufacturer and sent me a new one - yey! :D

I used to have a black hat with a little red gemil embroidered on the front, but I lost it somewhere in Cambridge - really used to wear it a lot in the winter, so kinda miss that.

Otherwise it’s probably stuff like the signed covers and photos from signings etc.

Oh yeah, and knowing that there’s at least one band that I can say I believed in and haven’t been let down by at some point in time.

I’ve a cool “Teethgrinder” shirt signed by Andy at my first Therapy? gig. He drew a cool devil (not Gemil!) face on it.

Also have a drum skin signed by Fyfe, Andy & Michael which is deadly.

Must admit, my photos with the band on the shameless tour are my most treasured, as they let me watch the soundcheck in the afternoon, and they were so down to earth and cool to hang out with.

They are fantastic to their fans. On the infernal tour, they spent the afternoon signing dressing room signs, diane postcards and drumskins. These were then sold at the gig at night, and all proceeds went to charities for the homeless. So I got the postcard and the dressing room thing.

Come on, roll on the next tour!!!

Must have gone right past you at the Manchester gig then, great charity.
T? had a fantastic stage that night as well, if I can remember right, with a lot stager lights set up in a massive heart shape.

Can I class a treasured item as my first thought about Therapy? If so, it was seeing them live on Top Of The Pops performing “Nowhere” - that was what got me into Therapy? and made me believe in them as a unique band. So many people have said that rock is dying as an artform. No, it isn’t. It’s louder and it’s better than before. It’s screaming in your face. Don’t believe in what they say. Believe in Therapy?
