Graham was and will always remain a regular rock drummer. nothing special about him. He’s not bad, but he’s not god’s gift to the drummer community either. Fyfe and Neil on the other hand… :D

that’s ridiculous!
you can’t say you dislike him because he fucked up 2 songs at that concert!
and if you remember: everyone was judging neil when i joined therapy?. a lot of t? concerts where pretty shite because neil was not yet ready to play along to therapy’s songs… i’d say it was similiar with graham in 1996. he was new to the group as well and had probably some difficulties to play along to teethgrinder…

So, if Andy fucks up a song you don’t like him? ;)
He was new to the band, chucked into the deep end. He’s a good drummer, some people appreciate him, others don’t. But to me, he’s an excellent drummer.

If you think he’s great: fair enough. I don’t like him as a drummer, not only because he started bad with the band.
Have no clue where you get it that “a lot of T? shows with Neil” sucked, never seen him play a bad show actually, not even in the beginning when he joined the band.

Keith Moon the loon, the first stand out hardrock drummer ever a whacky genius behind the kit
Sami Kuoppamäki. Y’all do yourselves a favour and listen to Kingston Wall’s live album. Sami destroys, so much feeling so much power so fucking metronome tight!
Pete sandoval he invented the blastbeat and is probably the best death metal drummer
Hellhammer listen to de mysteriis dom sathanas even the drumming is eerie and threatening
Sooper Cooper of course, not just because I’m a T? fan, he is really very good and I would like to hear stuff from his former band(s) is this still out there?
Dirk verbueren Belgium’s own Dave Lombardo. Drums for pretty much every modern (death) metalband in europe I think
Brant Bjork. Maybe his drumming is not spectacular per se but he is such a great allround musician, I had to mention him. But mind you, he IS a good drummer.
Dale Crover
Mario Duplantier (Gojira)
Trym
Bill bruford
The Isor drummer
Mitch Mitchell
I don’t listen to bands with bad drummers only good or average ones

i havent seen it, but i remember there were a few threads where people doubted that neil is good enough for playing with t?.. and now he is everybody’s darling! i just thought it might be similar with graham.
graham isnt a bad drummer, for sure.. he is more than just average and everyone who doubt it.. please listen carefully to sp-yf or better… try to play along to it and then we’ll talk again. his playing (especially) on that record isnt as simple as you might think…
but i think the fans mostly prefer neil’s surreal drumming and so most people say that graham is weaker.. anyway, i am not going to discuss that further.. i don’t really care who you people prefer… i just can say that i learned much of therapy?’s drummers
free speech for everybody!

And for the record i think Graham was a definate weak area for t? at the time, very plodding and average. Songs like Hate, Kill Destroy and Big Cave In sound so dull when they could have been bigger. Neil on the other hand fits the band wayyyyy better, more like fyfe’s style and sound but unique to himself still. He is the man.

Fair enough that you don’t like him as a drummer, but it would be pretty ignorant to only see Graham’s fuck-ups, as Fyfe and Neil had their share as well
That’s part of live shows
they’re not Tool (and I’m happy for that, Tool is amazing, but not to see live 10 times in a row, they’re way too perfect for that)!
Also Andy does fuck up a lot of his guitarsolo’s sings out of key from time to time and Michael sometimes plays sloppy. If you can’t forgive Graham for his mistakes, I don’t see what you like about Therapy? they all make mistakes
Graham isn’t in my like-list, since I think he’s just a regular drummer, I don’t think he’s bad, so he will definitely not end up in my dislike-list either.

His Autiobiography is a really good read… and he is infamous for being one of the very few people who could out drink Keith Moon.

I was (forced to) listening to Virgin Suicides OST earlier this week and it struck me that the fast song(s) had pretty cool drumming, very frantic and driving. But I have no idea who that sticksman is.
I think an average drummer makes an average band worse but a good drummer makes an average band better and a good band can’t be fantastic without a fantastic drummer. Drummers are essential to rock music. A band without drummer is like pizza without cheese.
