Well, Jan, although we’ve had that topic before (and not only once), I have to admit again that I had the same feeling as you had.

The first time I got in touch with Therapy? was when I saw the OPAL MANTRA-video on MTV; the music fuckin’ blew me away.

As I had some problems with my girlfriend then, the lyrics “I never really cared about you etc.” hit the spot…

Well, I’ve been following them for nine years now and I really love this band and its music.

The first time I heard T? was at a gig in Leeds, ‘94. We were on the front row and I remember deciding to marry Andy Cairns before they even started playing (I should add I was 13 at the time). The gig was totally amazing and 8 years on they’re still the best band in the world :)

Also, Credit to the Nation were supporting, which just makes me laugh.

And… the mighty Kerbdog (one of my favourite bands) were supporting too. What did ya think of them? It’s okay if you thought they were shite, I can take it!

Listening to a live version of Teethgrinder from Feile 93 on the radio. It was a really shitty night so the reception was terrible. Fyfe’s mic wasn’t hooked up properly either, so it was basically an instrumental version but I still thought it was the best thing I’d ever heard.

I actually enjoyed Kerbdog - I have one of their 7” downstairs, it’s got a severed finger on the front - can’t remember the name. I’ve seen them play at the (sadly demised) Duchess too.

I think the real question is how much do you love Credit to the Nation? I’m still laughing, I totally forgot they existed - now I have to go and download MP3s for comedy…

Posted your disk today btw :)

That sacred piece of molten wax contained the musical gem that adorned the name “Dry Riser”

Credit for the Nation is a band I’ve heard of, but never heard their music. I take it that it’s crap?

Thanks for the disk. Yours went today too. I’ve posted a link to the artwork in the “Other bands” section.

Much appreciated but, as you will discover when you get no insert in your CD, I am without printer :( I’ll note the link for later though.

CTTN are the rap band that sampled Nirvana’s Teen Spirit and were generally very cheezy. Crap in a funny way (but also in a crap way ;)).

What in the blue hell were a band like that doing supporting the mighty Therapy ?

Fret not, for I included photocopies of the the plainish inserts that Dylan (from Pet Lamb) sent me. So you’ll have something to put in one of those many spare cd cases of yours! :-) They’re just b&w sheets that give the list of tracks and artist etc… nothing special.

I wouldn’t mind getting the proper sleeve inserts myself but, alas, no colour printer.

Ta chum. As soon as I have a new ink cartidge I shall print you out nice covers - on shiny paper if you’re lucky ;) I’m not kidding about the CD cases, I’ve got boxes of the sods!

I have no idea how CTTN managed to get a gig supporting Therapy?, I was rather surprised at the time. They also managed to get on the same bill as Manic Street Preachers at an ANL carnival in London but then again so did African Head Charge - who really deserve a prize for their name alone, lolol

First I saw their pictures, they had short hair and they looked attractive to me. I’ve never seen an all-short-hair band in a metal magazine before!
Then I listened to Nurse, to be honest I didn’t like it a lot in the beginning, but after watching Screamager’s video and a live show on MTV (I think it must be from Reading 93) I bought Short Sharp Shock EP which was more than cool. After releasing of the Mighty TROUBLEGUM, nothing could stop me from being a T? Fan!
Until 1994 my fave band was SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, then ST became the second…

Went to Uni about the time Sheffield was being covered in posters for Teethgrinder and Nurse, but didn’t hear them until they were playing Screamager on Top of The Pops - one of the those moments when you fall in love with a song right from the start and know that it’s something special.

Have been into them ever since.

First I saw of them was at the monsters of rock at Donington in 94. I think I had heard some of their stuff in rock clubs, but they were fantastic live, and the amount of stuff from Troublegum that I had heard and didn’t know was them was the opening.
The line up then was fantastic, with Pantera, Sepultura and Aerosmith headlining. Not too sure how comfortable Extreme felt on the bill.
Fan-fuckin-tastic, bring back the proper monsters of rock festivals, Ozzfest is good, but to see 2 hours of someone else headlining makes for good viewing as well.

It was GREAT to see a band I identified with, post-Nirvana. It gave me a rush - “rock ‘n’ roll will never die!”. It was incredible to see a new band SHOUTING that “I LOVE ROCK - AND I’M GOING TO DO IT MY WAY” - I believed it, and I believe it now more than ever.
