hey baby, how you doin’? Are those Doc Martens or CAT’s?
@the rest of you - don’t you think it’s a teensy wee bit fucking late now to be unveiling the Obonobo Christmas range? Talk about locking the stable door after the horse has bolted - Jesus

@ Divers - Calm down for crying out loud, you’ll give yourself an ulcer!
:AS - I died my hair blue once, but it went green. It looked bloody awful!! Also you’re confusing things - D is Misanthropologist …
No, you’re confusing things: I’m ‘d’, and ‘D’ is Dan. And also Dennis. And now Simon… :D Hope this clears things up for everyone.
And I’ve had my hair dyed black, and purple, but I’ve forgotten why everyone is announcing such things. Is it important? *worries*

I gave her a signed Bandykoot T shirt which she handed to her servant, but I expect she’ll wear it on her next tour of Canada or New Zealand or something like that…

That’s because where you live is so posh that you would easily mistake a piece of hand-crafted parisian silverwork for a rusty letter opener. Dennis is happy and so am I. And so should you be - that signed Bandycoot T-shirt really suits you :)

It seems to be signed by Adolf Hitler…and what’s that other name…*reads* ‘Robbie Williams’…aaargh, it just gets worse!
And people in Halton don’t use any old sword. Duelling only takes place with the sabre and the epee.

I think they only listen to classic FM in Halton, so they probably use an oven timer or something instead of a record :)

what sort of speakers are they… you can take them apart, just make sure they are unplugged. YOu have a soldering iron about .. i could have a look at them when i’m next up if you want?

Is it safe to take them apart…? God knows, I haven’t the foggiest. I break PCs, not mend them, sorry!
If they aren’t plugged into anything I would imagine it is safe but check it doesn’t say anything on the back about not opening them or risk of electric shock first!
99 times out of 100 with speakers like that it is a loose connection in the speaker wires, so see if anything has come loose like that.

That was really weird - I was quoting you and then I got your edit in my post even though I hadn’t seen it. :S
One of them was cutting out and making crackling noises but then both the small speakers stopped working so I only have the bass speaker and it sounds like I’m listening to stuff from under a duvet …
*realises how dark it is*
*puts duvet back*
*blushes*
Really I just thought maybe you’re not supposed to touch them without an anti static mat or something, but now that you have both told me it is safe I will have a go :)

Well normal speakers that just have the audio leads going into them them don’t actually have any real electricity going through them… it’s just the audio signal making the speakers move.. you would get more of a shock off an AA battery. Powered speakers are a bit different, but if unplugged then they will be fine. Sounds like you have just got a dodgy cable going to the high end speakers.
