I did a bad thing.

You know when your hair has been various shades of (dyed) red for a long time?

And you know when you suddenly have an inspirational thought in Morrisons and say “Gawd, I haven’t been blonde in aaages, I’ll buy some bleach.”?

And you know when the instructions on the bleach say you shouldn’t put it on top of red hairdye?
And you know when you think “But I haven’t actually dyed it for a while, I’ve got roots showing so that probably doesn’t count”?

And you know when you bleach your hair and it looks bad so you bleach it again half and hour later?

And you know when you now have blonde roots followed by a weird ginger halo followed by still red hair?

And you know when all of tomorrow is going to be spent putting more dye on in order to fix it?

I’m sure there’s a lesson here somewhere…

I’m so glad i’m not the only person who does that!! I have a lot of natural red in my hair colour, but you can only tell when i bleach it and it goes ginger! My mum thinks it’s cute and calls it ‘Strawberry Blonde’, but i know ginger when i see it…

My worst hair mistake was dying it pink and blue for a fancy-dress party (i was Sulley from Monsters Inc), then trying to cover it up by putting blue dye on the pink bits and pink dye on the blue bits - that would make the whole lot go purple, right? I ended up looking like a peacock and my boss spent three days laughing at me, then told me to go get a haircut. I had to shave it all off and start again… and i’d do it again, because i’m just that damn dumb! :D

Hope you get it sorted!

never done that, people have asked me if I’ll dye my hair, but I’ve always refused. I just don’t like the idea!

lolol I think strawberry blonde is a special colour visible only to mothers. My mum had the same thing…

After a morning’s tribulations my hair is now black with red bits at the front and running through it in a style I like to call “highlights” as opposed to “I missed a bit”. All in all not a bad effort. Unfortunately my head is sore from the double bleaching effort so I’ve doused it in baby oil and have very slippery hands, not best for trying to type ;)

tell you what. everyone i know (everyone but my boyfriend actually) told me it would be a big mistake but they all changed their mind afterwards (everyone including my boyfriend…er)…
i dyed my hair black!!last week! BLACK, hurrah! man, that was a good change. i’m dark blonde (never liked blonde) and dyed my hair red for ages, i just got fed up and since i always do the right opposite of what people say to me..
being pale as i am can be a bit of a shock though :S

my worst mistake was on new years eve 4 years ago, because we have this weird habbit of trying to look as stupid as can be on that day. i was looking pretty much like a punk those days and thought it’d be fun coming there trying to look hand some. it ended up with bleaching my hair and of course missing out the sideburns and my goatie and the roots seem like they wanted to stay black.
my sister used to call me Flodder those days. (some might know that awful movie)

What, you’re German and you know Flodder?! Are we talking about the same (Dutch) movie here? The first movie was funny as hell!

yes, the flodders werre pretty big here i think. in case the first movie came yesterday again. flodders are great (well, the first movie, the second and the series were pretty dull) at least if you don’t look like one.

There’s actually a third movie as well, I think it came out in ‘95. The first one is the best, the other movies were ok. The series were pretty dull indeed.
