:D

okay I knew that would rattle a few cages. But:

Definitely Maybe or Stone Roses ?

Morning Glory is easily a better second album than Second Coming in terms of delivering.

And i think nobody can deny Be Here Now was easily better than the Seahorses album :D

Out of the remaining tracks, there’s only Straight To The Man that is what I’d call “poor”.

I think it is a good album, maybe not great or “classic” but still good.

its just weird. How an album can have one of THE greatest singles ever ever ever (“Love spreads”) on it, alongside such indifferent stuff like “your star will shine” is just a mystery. But then they were never gonna top the debut. Absolute genius album that.

But yeah, it pisses on Be Here Now.

I hate to admit it but I not only own Be Here Now, but I also own the Seahorses album AND Squire’s first solo “effort”.

*hangs head in shame and starts selling CD’s on eBay*

EDIT:

For my money, Oasis began and ended with the excellent Definitely Maybe. Morning Glory is way overrated and if I never hear Wonderwall or Don’t Look Back In Anger ever again it’ll be too soon.

Stone Roses is also a tad overrated but it’s still a classic, of course. Most great records get overrated, I guess.

Be Here now is a good FUN album :)

Its nowhere near as good as the first two albums, but it wasnt as bad as people made out.

THAT was Standing on the Shoulder of Giants. Their worst album so far.

:D

fucking hell mate, i’d pick the fucking second coming over definitely maybe! Most. Overrated. Album. Of. All. Time.

And you’ve got to remember, you wouldn’t even HAVE oasis without stone roses.

I like the kind of young, naive “us against the world” attitude of Def Maybe, but they are taking the piss to be still trying to get away with it today. Liam at the Brits?
If John Lydon did a Gap advert singing Anarchy In The UK with a backing band he got from a TV reality show it would be less sad.

His ” technique ” cant be very beneficial either.

That said - his voice on the recent album is pretty good.

Mind you - Ian Brown is shocking live !

yeah, ian brown is awful. With liam though, its not like he’s out of tune, he just seems to be barking the words out rather than singing. I thought noel was doing a lot of “papering over the cracks” to be fair.

Hooch, unless that’s some kinda of hip sarcasm that I just don’t understand (bad reference to some band from ages ago), then you are letting Eddie down…

And if you’re still not sure, maybe you need a trip into space.

I havent heard that, they’re one of those bands I got into after they split up, because of the new band containing ex-members (in this case Wilt, who weren’t quite as good) strangely that also happened with the Workhorse movement, I heard the Dirty Americans first, although they’re a bit different from WHM to say the least!

As much as I love Faith No More, a reunion would just be wrong and go against everything Mike Patton has said in the past. So let’s not wish for one of the best bands ever to piss on their legacy.

I don’t know if it is post-Dress To Kill to be honest, but at least you got the very poor Ugly Kid Joe reference :D

I’d like to see the original Metallica lineup!

Kirk doesn’t add much anymore (enough with the Wah Pedal!), bring Dave back in, and see what kind of music they’d create.

Saw them at Reading festival, maybe on the same bill but can’t remember.
