Not the result we would’ve hoped for, but we’re still through.

Hopefully we can break our european away duck in the knockout stages.

Yeah, was a real disappointment. Coming first or second doesn’t really matter though - if we topped the group we could have got the likes of Barcelona in the next round!! Means the second leg in the next round will be away from home though - a prospect that terrifies me

Title: Any Liverpool Football Club fans?? (merged)

Great win last night!!!
Riise and Bellamy scoring is funny since they were at each others throats during the week.

The fight started when Bellamy took offence at Riises refusal to sing with him in karaoke, so hit him with a golf club!!!
Funny stuff!!!
Making a golf swing action as his goal celebration was hilarious but very stupid since now he’s been hammered with an £80,000 fine and could be heading out of Anfield.

Should he be let go because of it?? rumour has it Benitez is gonna sell him to Aston Villa for £9million at the end of the season.

what does everyone think?

Good game with a couple of chances either way, and a typical Italian dive thrown in for good measure. Well done to the ref for not being fooled and booking the culprit.

Makes for an interesting return leg, don’t you think?

Yeah, great game. Though it looked like we would be hammered after the first 30 minutes - Barca were completely on top. But then their keeper threw Ballamys header in the net, and they lost all confidence. Valdes then picked up a back-pass, what drugs was he on last night? It was no surprise when the pool grabbed the winner. Nice coincidence that Bellamy set up Riise for it! Roll on the return leg though I’ve a feeling this tie is far from over.

I thought we were playing really well until they scored, and our heads seemed to drop a little, but the goal back gave us some hope.
It seemed that we weren’t in awe of Barca, and didn’t seem phased by them, ok we got rings ran round us at times, but the faces on their players at the end.. total shock, they seemed to think they had the god given right to win.

The media made things worse regarding Portugal, some said Carragher was singing at the Bar with Gerrard, yet carragher said he wasn’t even in Portugal. They won’t get rid of Bellamy, he is a class player, Villa buying yet another one of our players, Baros Collymore Rosenthal…

Nothing but over paid yobs who get supermodel girlfriends and still cheat on them and english football supporters are xenophobic wankers, who go out and start fights and damage property, just because their team lost a fucking GAME

Can’t you see the irony in singling out English supporters and then calling them xenophobic…?!

I’m not a football fan either but on the odd occasion when I do go, I sit with my wife (who is a season ticket holder) in a family enclosure and meet a whole host of varied people, many of them women, who would take exception to being lumped in with the stereoptypical “Thick, working class lout” image of a football fan.

Here’s my claim to fame:

One Saturday, after a match, my wife (who works in a pub) served Colin Cameron - and not only that, my band was playing that night, so I played in front of Colin Cameron!

Even better, though, my wife was all starstruck and gave it the old “Oh, I’m a big Wolves fan, been up the game myself today..” routine, and her gaffer leant over her shoulder at the poor guy and said “Ar, but yow was SHIT today, wor ya? Lost day ya!”

You know those things they have inside the ground by the food and drink stalls, where they build a wall of bricks with inscriptions on? I got my wife one last year for Valentine’s Day - It was worth it just to say to people when they asked did I get her anything for Valentine’s, “Yes, I bought her a brick.”

Aaw i love those bricks, if i get in there early (not very often normally in the little civic having a sherbert) i read them, so are quite comical.

Nice to see us on a bit of a roll at the mo, i fancied us for bottom half of the table after Twaddle went, but are much happier now. if only Sandwell Town werent doing so well !!
