That song also appeared on the rock sound magazine sampler, so it wasn’t really available in the uk only.
But it’s annoying of course if you couldn’t find the magazine, or found out too late about it.

Universal Music are pleased to announce the launch of a brand new series of BBC sessions. These include performances by some legendary artists, which are being made available to download for the very first time. The series begins with a compilation of Therapy?’s sessions for the BBC.
The album features five different performances by Therapy?, which were recorded between 1990 and 1997. It includes unique and exclusive versions of some of their greatest hits, alongside live favourites and three previously unreleased tracks; The Sweeney, Lost Highway and Pile Of Bricks. Music Through A Cheap Transistor. The BBC Sessions, is an essential purchase for any fan of Therapy?. It will be available to download from iTunes from 26th February.
“It’s very flattering to be in the first batch of artists to have these old sessions made available in their entirety especially in a digital download format. Having existed as scraps on C-90’s or as half-forgotten memories, it’s brilliant to be able to re-visit so many unique (and one-off) performances and let people see what all the fuss was about…”

Everyone would prefer a hard copy, but its good to have a couple of tracks released every few months like the Rain Hits Concrete, Webgig and now Music through a cheap transistor downloads. i havent bought any of these yet but hope to soon, but at least the T? camp is rolling with regards to releases

I think I-Pods suck, they are over priced under performing pieces of hardware that are simply fashion statements. I use a Sony MP3 player which is better than anything Apple have ever produced.
Therefore I have never used I-Tunes. Can someone tell me that if I downloaded I-Tunes just to get this Therapy? release on Monday (which I assume is possible without buying an I-Pod) will I be able to convert the file so it can play on a regular MP3 player, or will it only work on an I-Pod?
Ps, how have Apple been allowed to get away with this? Nazi’s!

Yes you can use iTunes without having an iPod.
I now have an iPod, but I still have/use my Creative NOMAD Zen xtra.
You can download and burn songs from iTunes. BUT the downloaded songs come in MP4 format, which is for iPod.
The trick I had to do to get the songs onto my Zen:
Once I burned the CD in iTunes, turn around and RIP the CD to MP3 using the software other than iTunes. Then you’re all set.
A little annoying, because you’ll now have two sets of files on the same album, but nothing too terrible.

Actually Steve Jobs posted an open letter to the recording industry to address this.

I’m in no way an apple fan boy / apologist but jobs reasons make sense to me.
I’m glad that some people who can actually force a change are finally going public with their dis-satisfaction on the whole drm thing.
I’m one of those musicians that has music for sale through ITunes and a variety of other places that is wrapped in garbage to restrict peoples usage. I(the owner of the content) don’t want it, and neither do the few that buy it.
I was not asked if I wanted that garbage “protecting” my creations.
Alas, be mad at the suits in the big 4 labels. They seem to be the only ones that want this. No band that I like has endorsed that crap to my knowledge I could be wrong.

Not even going to bother downloading via iTunes - something I still reject out of principal.
Saw the previous list of “good website shops” and have never used any of them before (BTW, MSN music no longer offers music downloads to my knowledge).
Anyone out there have any experience with these other websites (vodafone, T-mobile and what not…)?
I just want a site where I can go, pay and download - wham bam thank you mam with no bloody strings attached.
Would still prefer if this was released as an actual CD, but am impressed by what I have heard so far and would like to support the lads. Would be cool if it were simply available for download off of this site like the webgig was…

Regarding Pile of Bricks, it’s on my copy of MTACT so it should certainly be available to download. I can’t access i-tunes at work so will look into that tonight :)

Jesus, it’s gonna cost £22.12 to buy the whole thing from itunes cos you can only buy it as track’s rather than the whole album.
I have to say I think that’s a bit steep. I’d excpetc to pay £15-18 in a shop for a double CD release, and you get a CD with artwork for that.
I have to say I’m pretty disapointed :(

And just out of curiosity: who was the marketing genius behind the idea of keeping a download-only release restricted to the uk for a certain amount of time? do these people even know how the internet works? *scratching head*
- More than 30 for a bunch of mp3s when I pay around 18-20 for a double cd with full blown artwork? wtf??
But perhaps I got something wrong and you receive an ipod with your order? :D

itunes sees to have to do partial albums quite a bit, because of copyright issues that haven’t been fully sorted yet. They then put a new version up with full track listing.. some bands have five version of the same album to buy through them because of this.. which is silly? Maybe the whole Pile of bricks missing which it is, could be down to the fact that it is a track that was written and recorded just for session and delays have been in getting the full rights for the song to sell and will be added later. It is more than likley.

Well,
maybe they should just wait until they have these “copyright issues” sorted before they go ripping people off.
Like, is it just my imagination or is iTunes just a major headwreck?
I think they do the bands sales more damage than good.
