Computer help - Text Effects in Photoshop

Can any of you PC boffins help me on this one..?

Take a look at my band’s myspace page (the link is at the bottom of this post).

I want to recreate the band’s logo (which someone else did for us) so that I can make a larger version which won’t distort if it is blown up/ shrunk etc.

Now, I know the font that was used, but I have no idea how to make it so that a) it is in the outline of the letters rather than solid lettering and b) how to get the lighting effect the logo has, so that the letters appear to be lit from behind (oo-er missus)

Anyone able to tell me how to do this?
