Do any of the download sites let you buy/download the tracks from a Linux machine? The itunes store doesn’t seem to work.

I downloaded the album from Universal Musics UK’s downloads page last night. The DRM is a pain, since you have to validate each song. Soon as I get a chance the album will be in unprotected mp3 format instead of WMA DRM.

Must say that I’m blown away, so they say, by what I’m hearing. Brainsaw and obviously all the Nurse-tracks (especially Nausea… djeez, that one is loud!) I think are way superior than the album versions.

Why haven’t I collected all these radio versions back in the day? But then again, it’s quite an experience hearing ‘brand new sparkling’ versions of some of your favorite songs after more than ten years.

Speaking of which, I see some dude on some other forum talking about the Dave Fanning sessions.

He mentions an early performance of Die Laughing, that sounds like a real treat. Is that one widely available on bootlegs (or mp3)?

cheerz,

Can somebody please post the links where you can download it if you’re not living in the UK?

Else I will have to ask Simon and I don’t want to hassle the poor lad too much :p

So I just found the MFACT on the Sony Connect site, which I’ve never used before, but when you select all the tracks the total comes to almost £25!

That can’t be right? With downloads isn’t there normally a price for each track then a cheaper one for the entire album?

I’ve just realised that most albums have a shopping cart symbol next to the album and the individual tracks, but MTACT only has the symbol next to the tracks. There is no option to buy the album as a whole.

I can only find it on Sony Connect, HMV and Vodafone doesn’t have it.

I don’t really have a problem with buying digital downloads, but when problems like this happen it starts to get really annoying. There should be a specific release date, on specific sites, with straight forward dowloading. We should not have to battle to buy the music we want. Really pissed off with the whole thing.

i have to concur with Billy Blue… if even fans are having this problems to download the album… general public is not going to care about downloading this if they havent a link or a clear way to access the record.

You are right when you say just for fans as it’s download only…

I agree with this. I haven’t been able to buy it after many attempts. Other people will simply not even bother to try and buy it unless there’s a link to someplace that doesn’t actually crash every time!

For now, I’ll stick to my various bootleg recordings (from FM) of these tracks!

This is sad! I still didn’t find it anywhere, didn’t check Billy Blue’s sources yet though, since for £25 you can buy 2 brand new CD releases over here…
I really wouldn’t mind to give £25 if most of it is going directly to the band. I bet more than the half is going to the distributer and universal. Same as when you buy CD’s, but what mayor costs did the recordcompany have for these sessions, all the rights were already theirs, not?

I’ve got these sessions on bootleg as well, I want to support the band, and I WILL buy them, but hopefully there’s also a fair webstore who’ll distribute these tracks very soon, and otherwise hopefully Itunes worldwide, they at least have a fair price! :(

It’s on SonyConnect, but I think you may have to use the Sony Sonic Stage software to get it. Which isn’t a problem for me coz I use it anyway with my Sony MP3 player, but I’m not spending £25 on it so it doesn’t really matter.
