Title: March Tropical Madness : Therapy? in Reunion Island (merged)
Hey there. I’m Fred from the band Thermoboy, and we’re from the distant Reunion Island where the guys will be playing in a few weeks. My band and I have been granted the oppurtunity to support Therapy? during their tropical trip, and we’re thrilled beyond words.
To all of you out there who’ve seen the guys live numerous time, I have to explain the importance of this event for our tiny island : we have never had a proper indie/rock band until now, and to be able to host the guys, alongside french bands Burning Heads and The Film is a first for us.
I’m starting this thread to keep you posted about the whereabouts of the band here, as I’ll probably be in touch with them during their whole stay. Needless to say I’m gonna try and get some crazy shit done while they’re here, documenting things as much as i can in the process.
Peace
F.

Funny, I posted my own thread before seing that one. I’ll be supporting t? with my band in Reunion and there’s no storm in sight. And Evilbeast, whoever told you about the gothic kids here are right, there’s a recent surge of fucking emo kids here, but there’s still people who are not 16 and not listening to fucking zouk who’ll be there. And btw, zouk is not from Reunion, get your facts sorted.

I know that Zouk is from “Martinique” and “Guadeloupe” ( and by the way, long live to Kassav and Frankie Vincent!!!!),it’s a music from Carribean area, don’t get me wrong. The statesment about gothic people listening Zouk stuff…etc…I had it from a guy who’s been living in your Island for almost 4 years.I told interzone back of it during a private chat but he twisted my words here and I had to correct things and I wouldn’t have told these things here if he hadn’t done it …Anyway,I didn’t mean your island was shite for Rock N’Roll. So yeah,I’d blame them both for your part…

Don’t get me wrong either, Reunion is not a paradise for indie/rock people. It has a lot of musical communities (reggae and world music being the most important ones, as you can guess), and the rock scene is somehow confidential. But the lack of international acts makes some magic happen and usually gets people to the gigs. Where does your friend live ? I’ll be glad to get him some tix to T? if he’s a fan.

don’t exactly where he lives (St Pierre or St Gilles)…And he’s about to leave to come back in France these days,we’ve known each other for 10 years but I didn’t get much in touch with him until the announcement of the coming of T? over there…and I’ve been keeping on harassing him to welcome me as well for these 2 gigs…very impolite from me I admit …don’t think he’s a big T? fan,he’s more into Metal Music (Pantera,Sepultura,Morbid Angel,Napalm Death)and long time ago,I used to tease him because he had the same look as Andy got in 1994 (same hair colour, same haircut, same kind of beard),so maybe I made him fed up with them ,No I’m kidding :D.
you mean tix=tickets? (sorry I didn’t catch the meaning)

Tickets yes. And honestly, I could try and hook people up with other people living here for accomodation. I mean wow, if you people seriously consider coming down here to see T?, that’s the least we could do for you as fans, right ? Let me know if you are serious about coming here, and maybe we could arrange stg (have someone who goes to the gig host you for a week, i dunno). All i know is that I will try and help any T? fan that will make the trip.

Anyway,I’ve appreciated all the efforts made by Thermoboy for trying to welcome me as well :) …Maybe for another time ;) .
Enjoy your times over there and have fun with the T? boys

And about the bootleg question, I’ve had confirmation that the gig will be recorded in all digital glory, so I’ll make sure that it leaks right after the first night. Can’t guarantee the second night though.

Seriously, I expected a cool bunch but this is beyond cool. The shows are gonna be great, with good vibes from Burning Heads and The Film too.
I’ve got some pics from the press conference and stuff, and we hope to spend more time with the guys tomorrow.
Magnus is also landing tomorrow morning, we already got him an all access pass for both gigs. Yay.
Peace,
Fred
