Unless Hooch has been fiddling with her posts by using her editorial power - which I actually half suspect ;) - then she’s in the lead with 17.
I just need one more… come on, come on…

If the hanging does happen before midnight on Sunday I *think* that would put Ci? in the lead

Yep, Saddam’s swinging tomorrow apparently…which will mean I have 14 points. Hopefully Kirk Douglas will pop his clogs on New Year’s Eve and win it for me ;)

Yes I’m morbid, but I’m a Therapy? fan so you should already know that ;)
I’m also a bored and geeky morbid Therapy? fan, so here goes: to the best of my knowledge the leader board looks like this…
Ci? - 17 (Charles Haughey 10, Saddam 7)
Hooch - 17 (Gerald Ford 10, Pinochet 7)
Mr Self D - 14 (Pinochet 7, Saddam 7)
Dermot - 12 (Gerald Ford 7, Jinky Johnstone 5)
Tubthumper - 12 (Pinochet 7, Saddam 5)
Unrequited_Lad - 12 (Gerald Ford 7, Saddam 5)
Deadsetgav - 10 (Pinochet 10)*
Divers - 7 (Saddam 7)
Zipless - 6 (Saddam 3, Pinochet 3)
Colin - 5 (Saddam 5)**
Pat - 5 (Steve Irwin 5)
Idlevice2 - 0
Taunty Dan - 0
Mrs H - 0
Hatham - 0*
*Unless Castro is dead
**Unless Bin Laden is dead and died before Colin?’s entry date (Sep 28th)
My suggestion if it’s still a tie at midnight on Sunday would be whoever’s next celebrity dies from their 2006 list in 2007 wins it (only between Hooch and Ci?)
OR (more controversially) Ci? wins it cos her celebs were higher placed than Hooch’s
I guess it’s your decision Divers..? :p

Maybe they should have a death match showdown to settle it.
Or maybe I’ll fly back to Leeds tomorrow and finish off Jimmy Saville :)
I think for next year there should be more variation in the points awarded for a death - perhaps 10 points for 1st place, 9 for 2nd, 8 for 3rd etc.

I agree with that - that’s why I’d *probably* go for Ci? to win this year to make the positions actually count for something when it comes down to it.
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves - there’s still 36.5 hours to go!!
I can imagine the arguments if someone died at midnight on NYE in America (“But in the UK that was 2007!”)
:D

So it’s all on my shoulders now is it..? Well I guess, no offence Sarah, but even though you and Ci? have the same points it does make sense that hers were higher in her list than yours so I would say that makes her the winner if nothing changes in the next 12 hours.
And Gav have you thought of a prize yet?
I’m glad everyone enjoys this game.. I will post the 2007 one tomorrow and will make a few changes points wise and give the thing a closing date for entries.:)
