Not too bad… has a few good tracks, concidering he wanted DM to be more rock there are more mellow ballads then big songs. It’s nice and relaxing though:)

must admit, at the time of his solo stuff, I expected (from what he was saying) that DM was over and would never do anything again.

Not to say that Playing The Angel is a fantastic album, but the tour for it saw them back on form, I would say.

I quite enjoy PLaying the Angel… it took time to grow on me as I felt halfway through it tailed off, but the more I play it the more I enjoy. Exciter I find quite dull to be honest, so it has more balls than that.

I just read a book about them and was surprised how bad things had got between them. I have a DVD from the last tour I really wish I had gone to see them as it’s really good… just hope they do another tour so i get a chance.

Martin doing Leave In Silence with just him and a dude playing piano was just amazing.

I had more-or-less gotten bored of them until I saw the PTA tour - like you say, it’s not a bad album at all, but it does flag a bit - but Dave Gahan is a bona fide Rock Star, no doubt about it.

This was the album among Motörhead stuff which did lead me into to harder stuff (from Rockabilly music) back then years ago.
